The first gameboy game i ever played, and my favourite Mario game of all time. This game holds so many memories and is incredibly sentimental to me. The first time i completed it, i was so happy that i cried. Takes me back to a better, simpler time in life when people actually liked me.

Super Mario Land started out as an amazing way of playing Mario on the go when it came out in 1989. But just like with Kirby’s Dream Land, nowadays it’s very primitive compared to the later installments, Super Mario Land 2: The Six Golden Coins and the Wario Land games.

I must have spent 3 years finishing this game, like all other GB games, you had to restart at the beginning every time you ran out of lives. The last theme is so epic when you worked so hard to get there.

Mario's very first handheld game, and it shows. It's pretty good for it being the first of its kind. The sequel would definitely improve on the graphics and gameplay of the first.

btw if you speedrun, in lvl 3 right at the start there is a hidden block you can bump and reveal, then you move on top of lvl and shave off some secs. that ending boss of lvl 3 was to fast though, you cheater :) np just making muic playlists i guess
