Great stuff.... I am sorry that the days of MGM are gone.... it was such a different park back then.... not the same, miss it..... Great movie ride, back lot tour.... a thing of the past..... just like the hand print ceremonies..... Warren Beatty's handprints occurred on June 14, 1990 at the Dick Tracy world premiere which was hosted at the park. Along with him was Dustin Hoffman, Glenne Headly, and Charlie Korsmo who all had their handprints done too.

@16:00 that might be Imogene Coca best known for the Sid Caesar show. She voiced 14 episodes of Garfield and Friends, she appeared in National Lampoons Vacation, Brady Bunch…lots more. The picture of her concrete handprints are on her Wikipedia page.

I never caught a "Star of the Day" parade or handprint ceremony, but I have several old guide maps with the Times Guide in them saying who the Star of the Day is and the parade time (2:00pm).

We were there for our honeymoon in 1990. The star of the day, we saw, was Robert Kline. Have pictures here somewhere. We've never found his prints. Wonder if they are at Theater of the Stars.

After 1995, the handprint ceremony still took place for publicity purposes, but the block was a standardized white rectangle in a tray on a rolling pedestal and never installed in the forecourt. This all concluded once Disney moved their focus toward planning for the millennium celebration!
