I’ve only ever seen pictures and what Sarah writes on her instagram, so this video was amazing. I’m sorry to everyone who had tickets, but being someone who has wanted to meet Sarah for years, and having never had the chance due to money and travel (Idaho is a ways away from the typical book circuits) I am so thoroughly thankful for this Q&A. I will likely not be able to meet the Maas team, and just being able to watch these two, who remind me so much of myself and my man, I feel so glad to have met them this way. I’m not sure you’ll see this, but I just have to say, you are so strong and you are not alone! I have been dealing with such a similar thing, and just these past few weeks ended up at the hospital with a “panic attack”. I have been fighting my anxiety my whole life but these past few months have been exceptionally hard and I really didn’t want to take medication. I finally got on medication after the hospital because like you, I can’t imagine living like that any more. I also hope you know that your books are genuinely one of the things that pull me out when it gets bad. I have never connected to a book like I have Acotar. It is the most beautiful thing and just brings me pure joy when reading it. I have planned to get a tattoo that says “Don’t let the hard days win.” Anyways, I just hope you know you’re not alone, and that I am thankful for the beautiful worlds you create to help pull me out when I get down. ~ Another Mama

I know this is 3 years ago but I wanted to say thank you for not only the books that I’m so in love with I haven’t been able to stop rereading them for months since I found them but also for the trust and courage to talk about your mental health journey. It’s so important for influential ppl to speak to mental health. I’m absolutely convinced that Cassian is modelled off of Josh. Cass is sweet and kind and a caretaker of the ppl he loves and it would seem Josh is too. I hope the men around him learn what it is to be a good man. It’s really beautiful. I am sure ppl tell Sarah she is lucky to have you but I don’t think it’s luck so much and knowing what and who is good for you. The universe may have put you in each others paths but you chose each other. I love it. I want to gush about everything in your verse but I’m sure you get a lot of that and I’m not really a gusher. I will say you are a fantastic fantasy write Sarah. Outstanding. I put your books up with GRRM and Tad Williams for world building, characters, and story telling. I am still fascinated with the worlds. I miss the characters when I finish a series and have to back to them. The dialog is like listening to friends. Just outstanding!
