This is by far the best video wg has made • They told players its weaknesses and strong points and how to make it harder for enemys to hit • they put in historical context •they were very accurate with describing the armor and told them well its not the best but the gun is what makes this tank shine

Actually, since it’s the plural of Maus- a German word, it would be Mäuse. I don’t expect most English speakers to know that, so to me, Mauses is totally acceptable. Honestly it makes more sense than mice since it’s the name of a specific proper noun.

All confusion could’ve been avoided with them using die Mäuse, since using the declension is of the utmost importance, especially when describing nouns in a different language, makes a hell of a lot of difference. I would expect even the “non-German speaking Americans” to hav at least a tenuous or working knowledge of their own language, when it’s being spoken without a deviation from it sounding like “mouses” (because it did), to Mause which sounds more like mice (because it’s actually the case). The English language is derived from the Germanic tribes that moved west, which is EXACTLY why our language & words are so well rooted with one another. But, hey, what the fuck do I know?

@@drewharris12984 When speaking English to other English speakers, and dealing with foreign words, using the most common pluralization method in English (simply adding an S or ES) is the best bet for clear quick communication. Just a general rule of thumb. You can bet, no one would be saying “Mauses” if the tank was actually named the “Mouse”. It’s just the foreign spelling that brings the confusion about. So if you’re cool with people saying things like “the Jagdpanzers” then “Mauses” should be no different. Obviously, mice would also work in this case just because in this particular instance it is so similar to the English word, but usually that would not be the case. So I think either is fine.
