Loving this series. I'm hoping Netflix or Prime pick it up. USA could be a dominant force if more athletes picked up this beautiful sport.

The U.S. needs to get back into the schools, that way they have a continuous stream of future young talent and fans. Having a national team and a pro league of our own is nice, but they get the kids hooked, the rest will work itself out.

@@666kingdrummer hopefully the interest will build and the demand for it in schools will follow. I don't know what US Rugby's long term plan is though.

I played rugby since I was 5 now I am 27 and what coach here said about brotherhood is so true. Brotherhood in Rugby is a different type of bond
@ggor063 жыл бұрын
The bonding part is really true, in my league after each match we are sort of forced to but we always hang out with the other team and we bring food and snacks and stuff and its quite fun, no matter how much of an enemy the team is

That is the Rugby grass root value: Sportsmanship and comradery, players are occasional rivals, never enemies as sharing the same passion about the game.

I'm 63 now, but the desire to lace up those boots again never goes away. It's such a fantastic game culture with a real 'brothers in arms' team spirit; and when the final whistle blows, there's a genuine shared comradery with the opposition. It's got a role for every shape and size, with everyone a valued part of the machine. Enjoy your playing days guys, it's the best of times😁👍

Warms my heart to see my LA Rugby League boys, from Howard, Alfie, Ivan, Jayson and Donny, the Eagle Rock guys are phenomenal. Miss them dearly. Corbs needs to come to Denver ASAP. There's so many guys that've been left out to wilt, I know he can change that.

The camaraderie is a great reason to love the sport but it’s also extremely important tactically. If you know and trust the man next to you, defending your channel is easier and defensive lines are more challenging to break. It’s what Rassie did with the Springboks in 2 yrs to get the RWC title. He made the squad 1, everyone knew where they stood and everyone was connected. A team playing for each other will beat a team with talent but lack trust. Unless it’s NZ.

Oh, brother! As if Americans have never played a team sport, let alone rugby, before. The Yanks have been playing rugby since the 1870s, and won the Olympic gold medal in rugby in 1920 and 1924. If they ever get serious about professional rugby, watch out.
@cameronpuryear85903 жыл бұрын
Feel like the rugby community lowkey hates on USA cause they know if they took it even somewhat seriously their athletes would put other nations to shame, and the world of rugby that they knew for so long would quickly vanish. All the money would be in usa as well if their league is to blow up (as it slowly is). This would create a whole different club scene, you’d have American rugby on top of traditional “NH” and “SH” competitions. You’d probably see South American rugby merge with North American, creating what is a current sleeping giant. Thoughts? Opinions?
@cameronpuryear85903 жыл бұрын
And on top of this happening you’d see a larger pool of players to represent smaller nations, as the USA is diverse representing so many backgrounds. Mainstream USA rugby needs to happen , but will the world let it happen is the question
