Flyquest played well and the entire West was behind them. This is one of the few matches where it feels like everyone won: NA earned a lot of respect, the tournament favorites move on, the 'home team' for the West in knockouts performed admirably, and we even got to see game five turn on a Chovy gap. It's basically everything a western team could hope for. This Worlds has seriously delivered. I'm having a blast as a spectator.

Really respect to Fly. Their drafts creativity and execution really made the tournament so much more exciting. Each region has their own style and preferred champs. I agree that the west should play their own style. This is how they can have an edge over the Asian teams with unfamiliar matchups. If the west play their own style, and improve their macro and mid-late game decisions, they are gonna competitive and it adds so much more excitement to international tournaments!

I think this is what happens when you have teams pushing you all year. Fly and TL pushed each other all year, especially with this last split being as it was. Hope LCS stays as competitive or even more amongst the top teams. Hope LEC has a 2nd team step up to G2. Hope both the west gets together to support each other against the east instead of dogging each other and pulling both down instead of up. Goes to show still something to fight for, already can't wait for next year.

This way FLY had to choose, do we let Chovy get his Yone and we get Skarner, or do we deny the Yone and let them have Skarner? That game 5 draft by FlyQuest seemed good for the fans and all that but neither Fiddlesticks nor Seth actually did anything in the actual game. I mean yes, they lost the game on the baron sneak, but the draft didn't do them any favors. I mean they got Ione in the draft yet instead of building around this OP pick they instead went completely wild with picks that simply had no synergy and couldn't get the most of their OP Ione pickup. Also, as good of a fight FlyQuest gave GenG this entire series, it was clear that GenG went into the series with overconfidence and disrespect towards FlyQuest. Not that it diminishes FlyQuest's accomplishment but when GenG bothered coming to play than FlyQuest was simply no match for them.

Being on stage against a team you're familiar with, in Gen.G's case, will most likely put them at ease. On the contrary, being on stage against a team you haven't beaten in well over a year has it's added pressure. I hope T1 wins, but it's obvious that FLY winning would've made it much easier for them. Also, quoting wins and losses in an on-going tournament is meaningless, the important thing is whether they make it through. WBG barely scraped through the Swiss stage and had four game losses going into quarter-finals, LNG had a perfect run with zero game losses going into quarter-finals. What happened? LNG got bagged.
