Worlds Best Cantilever 6x6 UNIMOG And Military Vehicle Go To WAR! Cross RC Emo NT6 v Traxxas TRX6

Watch this video to the end, it’s jam packed with awesome footage of 2 of THE BEST radio controlled 6x6 Off Road vehicles in the world fitted with bespoke cantilever suspension. If you follow the channel you will already know that the new release from Cross RC, the Emo NT6, is my favourite 6x6 by a country mile!! It has to be one of the cheapest rigs of its kind on the market and at roughly £400 here in the UK, it weighs in at around 50% of the price of a Traxxas TRX6. The NT6 has looks on its side, it has price on its side but unfortunately the crawling capabilities straight out of the box where mediocre at best. BUT….. With saving £400 on the price, I have spare change to the sum of…. You’ve guessed it, £400 to spend on upgrades.
With the new AGFRC 35kg Steering servo, 2300kv Hobbywing Fusion Pro, brass weights, metal wheels, silicone inserts and some 2nd hand tyres, thing were starting to shape up nicely. Apart from the biggest issue that I feel the NT6 comes out of the box with… THE SUSPENSION!!!!!
With a rig being so inexpensive, sacrifices have to be made, I feel the suspension was compiled from parts from the parts bin for a similar 4x4.. This is a big mistake, as the weight of the rig is now shared over TWO rear axles. The suspension is far too stiff to allow for any serious rock crawling. This is where Gavin comes in.. He designed and manufactured “Cantilever” suspension for his Traxxas TRX6 that way outperformed the stock suspension, looks absolutely amazing, lowers the centre of gravity and turned his 6x6 into one very capable rig!!
Having been embarrassed by the performance of the NT6 with its terrible suspension, I camped outside Gavins house and refused to move until he designed and engineered A COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN of Cantilever suspension for my Cross RC.. Gavin finally succumbed and agreed to recreate his masterpiece to fit the NT6.

TRX6 all the way!!! Lol. Tyres the difference now: The Gmade 1904s might now be kept for the muddy stuff and a set of Flat Irons installed for the rocks. I'll have to annihilate the silicone inserts like you did 😂

Haven’t brought the truck yet have a Have modified TRX four which I enjoy, but I am not at Traxxas fanboy. Just think the suspension set up is awesome and have been wanting a 6 x 6 for a long time.

Think I was running Gmade 1904 up front and 4 Proline Flat Irons on the rear.. I do intend to run flat irons all round though, it’s just what I had laying around

@@TimsRcsurgery do you watch crawler canyon at all ? He does a lot of tire reviews and the best of the bunch is the tusk LP, you can probably fit them to yours as the gap between the wheels is quite large, if you want to stay lower in cost then you can not beat a set of cut canyon trails. Oh and get your sprung to unsprung weight sorted out and then it will climb like a gecko 😁
