it does seem kind of gimmicky to me, most of the "features" of the button can be had with a 2$ cell checker that will give you more accurate info anyway. as for the self-discharge most of those are a very low rate that take forever to discharge a big battery like that, my opinion if you're using lipos you need to be responsible with them and not rely on things like this.
@ExocagedRC2 жыл бұрын
I agree but I have 3 of those lipo checkers and sometimes I can’t find any of them. If the battery is sitting over the winter and it takes a week to get to storage I don’t see an issue with that. The over charge protection, that’s a much needed feature in the RC world.

Spectrum smart batteries were the 1st and with those you're able to set your parameters as far as, When you would like it to storage charge itself(default is 72hrs), LVC, Automatic charge rate, and more. Now the xbc100 is needed for this but that's$30 and does much more than a voltage checker. I do however like the instant voltage meter built into the battery that's cool. Too expensive batteries I think are less convenient than buying middle price one, considering them as something to use for a considerable amount of months and then throw away for some new one. I always have in my bag some battery as a spare for finishing my daily plan if needed and I think this give more chances to arrive at the end of the day without problems. I had an electric Trial bike and I can assure that there is no better choice than having a new battery in the bag... if possible (for Trial bike at the moment is not possible and the best battery quality is not a solution, unfortunately).

I really like Gens Ace...they produce excellent LiPo packs. However, this is a bit on the "overkill" side...plus, for the price they're charging, it's a ripoff. Sorry, Gens Ace, but I'm going to consider this one a 'fail'. A LiPo checker is FAR more accurate. As others have pointed out, there shouldn't be any need for am "overcharged power cutoff" - if you're using any charger of at least halfway-decent quality, it'll never overcharge, so that "feature" is wasted. The button & LEDs are just "flash", and adds (exorbitantly, it appears) to the cost. To Joe, I also have 3 LiPo checkers...but, I DON'T lose them. I have 3 ammunition boxes that I keep all my batteries in, and I keep a LiPo checker in each box. When I add a 4th box, I'll add a 4th LiPo checker. As long as you always put it back in the box after using it (which isn't a difficult thing to do), you'll never have to 'remember' whether are.
