That has to be the baddest 6.2/6.5 refurb I have seen in a while. It looks like you added a lot of new hardware over the stock setup. I have 2 each 6.2L diesels sitting in my yard; one with a BAE turbo kit and the other naturally aspirated. These engines have definitely been misunderstood and undervalued for so long. Great job and thanks for providing inspiration and insight on what is possible for these classic machines. 👍🏻

Hey thanks! Everything basically just fell into place as far as the upgrades go. Whatever I thought of I did and got a pretty great end result I say. Ya just gotta keep up on maintenance and will be good to go. Visual and physical inspections of your rig should be natural by now to have absolute confidence all is to par. My newer videos are during doing more upgrades and after as well and are worth checking out.

I got a thing for old Square Body Chevys and this 6.2 has been a blast to own. Easy to work on and far more reliable than any new vehicle.

Great build. I am working in 6.5 build now. I was considering the mishimoto oil thermostat and larger oil cooler. You are first 6.5 guy I have seen actually incorporate one. Makes sense to me.
@TheAscendedMaster2 жыл бұрын
It's really helpful in the cold weather as it recirclates the oil back to the block bypassing the oil cooler until it reaches 185° to aid in quicker warm ups. It also increases your oil capacity quite alot giving the motor more available oil slowing oil breakdown aiding in longer engine life and reducing oil change intervals. I highly recommend it for all 6.2 and 6.5 builds.

@TheAscendedMaster3 ай бұрын
@@gunnarkintigh8172 Well it all depends on many factors. Best thing is to probably do a test drive and decide from there. If you know that the truck, engine, cooling system, egts ect are ok and can handle it then OK but if you don't know then it's a risk and a " well let's find out if it's all OK or not" type of deal.

Gotcha I got another 6.2 that I wanna rebuild and I’ve been told so many times that these are bad engines so I’ve been thinking on the rebuild of doing what your doing with the head going to the 6.5 heads and getting the spinline turbo kit and the studs and all that
