I’m literally in tears!! I got one 33+ years ago for Christmas when my family was stationed in Iceland. I played with her for nearly 10 years before she disappeared from my possessions *crying* Thank you so much for this video. So many good memories were brought back!! Xx

The first time I heard about Mother Goose was from a completely unrelated toy in Sunday school. I had never heard about her through television or movies or anything and when I was three a very special lady gave me the talking Mother Goose to play with. We popped in the ugly duckling tape, and it was one of the most amazing stories and renditions I had ever heard in my life. Thanks to the creators and developers of the product and the person who voiced Mother Goose and all the people involved in making my childhood amazing.

That is so lovely! I’m so glad you were able to experience her. She truly is a magical toy!! She was voiced by Russi Taylor, who also played Minnie Mouse for many years!

@@AnniChu yes I know she was :-) When I was little, I thought she had real feathers on her, so I got her back into my life years later and tried to tape real feathers onto her wings. I thought it was adorable.

Oh my god, I just discovered this toy and she’s absolutely amazing. So, so cute! I love all these quirky old talking animatronic toys. They’re really fascinating and they were so ahead of their time.. just such a shame that so many of them have stopped working. ): If they made remastered versions with today’s technology, they’d be absolutely incredible - I’m sure of it!

Aside from her mouth, she works well, she doesn't have a grinding cassette player kind of going weird, she moves and the sound is perfect! Overall, she's in REALLY good condition.

I have a Mother Goose and a Hector! She wasn't working thr best and Hector wasn't working that well either, if I remember correctly Mother Goose's top part of the inside of her beak was broken off, and we had to get her neck to start turning too. I think Hector also had some problems, I think the batterys had a hard tike touching some of the metal. But after a lot of work, they work very well!

My mother goose was origionally my aunt Judy's. She bought it in 1986 and one of her daughters is Megan. But I don't know if that's the same megan. And they never had any of the Hector tapes. I just have Ugly duckling, Princess and th epea, rumpelstiltskin, and some others that I can't remember of the top of my head

The reason Mother gooses eyes and moth are not working is the tiny belts in the servos are broken. I am working on my mother goose and the tiny belts were just broken . I have never found broken belts in any of my 23 teddy Ruxpins . I will try to find new belts but I took belts out of a Mickey Mouse and Mother goose is working now . I have the same problem with the tape player as yours I kind of rigged it a bit and it will play but it is a pain to get it to play at the right speed but I do get it to play at the correct speed. When working on any of the talking toys from WOW be gentle and go slow if you have never worked on one before. The wires can be very brittle at the solder joint . Today's date is 3 21 2022 I wish I could be more help

My mother Goose needs to be fixed. I have 8 tapes. Mine was originally my Aunt Judy's back in the 80s. She did work and I saw her fully working one time but she doesn't work anymore. Do you know anyone who can fix her?

The battery compartment is usually a good indicator! If it’s hinged, it’s a second gen. If it’s not, it’s a first gen!

My cousin Jim has my Mother Goose and he says that he may know why she's not working and may be able to get her going again. My birthday is exactly one month from now and I'm hoping to get more tapes to add to the 8 that I have already. I especially want to get the lullabies cassette for when my cousin River is around, and when his sitser Caroline is born.

Yes!! The best way to tell is the battery compartment. A 1st gen will have no hinges on the corners, and a 2nd gen will have two small hinges on the battery compartment! Her battery compartment is under her wing
