Im a fan of Aruna, but in this match he struggled so bad to win against lin who played so so smart. Not to mention that comparing to Aruna, who is fh oriented player, the corean has a powerful fh and also a very good backhand topspin. Lim definetely has a wonderful future ahead.

Totally agree bro. I love his style and wish me, that comes more talents from Africa, South America or the pacific side . Aruna shows an awesome talent. From the distance till the table, a great Allrounder for me with potential in the aggressive play.

his style came from poor footwork and body balance.

@@paolorizzi2538 that's why I like seeing him play. I'm an amateur player with match poorer footwork and body balance so seeing him play makes me identify with his style. Moreover, he is ranked as number 14 right now so that means he has managed to compensate his deficiencies with strong abilities.

The question is, if Aruna trained the Chinese or EU style, would it actually have improved his game?...or would it have made him more predictable....

@@xabieraizpuruasalaberria9831 Aruna certainly deserves respect and admiration, but I think even he would agree that he's definitely not someone that should be emulated. Players who want to play well should actually work on their footwork and body balance.

I was really rooting for Aruna to win but unfortunately he lost to Lim who played very smartly and fiercely. Analyzing the game there are a number of reasons why Aruna lost. 1. He did not handle lim serves very well. Lim serves mostly topspins and side topspin’s with varying placements on the table. Aruna’s favorite receive technique is stopping the spin with his forehand and unfortunately most of the receive pops up slightly cos the topspin was heavy. 2. Lim opening attack is very strong and he varies the placements a lot which makes it difficult for Aruna to predict and prepare for a counter attack. 3. Aruna’s backhand flip has improved in recent times but he was quite hesitant to use it cos I guess he wanted to win badly so was trying to use his more favored forehand topspin. I wish Aruna will study this game and make some adjustments in order to beat this kind of style in the near future

Aruna didn't play bad, but his lack of balance with mobility cost him here. Lim was moving him around and Aruna can't always get a strong shot in. Aruna moved Lim around too, but Lim has good footwork and balance and was able to hit some great backhands, and when given time, step around and use his forehand angle out.

In powerful forehand that could be better if he didn't plays most of the times crooked. This happens when Aruna moves from left to right. Regarding the backhand, I would say that the problem is that he uses the punch which gives him a lot of points but if I am not mistaken, he loses way more points far away the table. Regarding the services, I do not understand why Aruna does not serves downspin much more.
@aceventura17772 жыл бұрын
He doesnt serve down spin because he is very bad(in regards to other top players ofc) in short-short (thats what usually comes after a down spin) He is always seeking an open game where he can owerpower the other guy. He like to play short on opponents serve (many times players cant repeat short after a good short return so thats when he starts the fh attack) but he doesnt like when the same is done to him.
