Felix got 16 points in a row, the 11 - 0 destroyed Hugo's mentality. As a Brazilian I feel bad for him, but what a great athlete is the young Lebrun, he will fight against the chineses for top 4 in near future.

No such thing as destroyed mentality, Hugo has lost sets of 11 - 1 before and on the following set he made 11 - 0. 2 sets and half and he run out of energy, that's it, he simply got tired, he gave too much in the first 2 sets and Felix just took that opportunity.

@cayden2744 How can you say it was a lack of energy? He literally wasn't receiving a serve on the 11 - 0 game, and you don't need energy to receive a serve, you need the right choice and timing.

As a Chinese table tennis amateur, I'm very optimistic about Felix Lebrun. I hope he can enter the top three in the rankings, as I also use the penhold grip myself.

yes there's a lot to be desired. I actually prefer to not having them talking. and the strong accent of the female commentator is not pleasant to hear.

Contrary to many other opinions apparently, I actually like this angle: you can see both players and their movements, as well as the ball at all times! But the diagonal angle, like in the R16, is pretty good too. More importantly WTT needs to finally stop cutting out random points and get their technical difficulties under control!!

Hugo experienced the same 3rd game pain as Dima in Antalya last year: no gas left in the engine after 3 games facing Felix. It’s brutal how Felix crush them physically.

That’s what most MALE commentators do, general comments with no details. There are at least 90% male commentators like those. She’s the exception. I’m a male and it’s sad how easy we get away with things.

Fefe m'a fait peur au 3 ème set, a mené 7-3 et s'est fait ratrappé puis 2 balles de 3-0 contre lui. Il a un sacré mental, s'il tient la raquette contre tous les autres français, s'en est finie la partie or il tient en porte plume comme Xu xin, never give up. Chapeau bas champion. Je t'admire pour tes qualités de champion et de sportif de très très haut niveau

Sometimes you just wonder if Hugo has the strategy mindset like other pro players or not. In difficult situations, players will try their backup plan, something different like felix with his backhand serves. Hugo is like there is no backup plan, always serving high toss from the backhand corner. He either wins or loses with a single style of gameplay.

I think in the beginning Lebrun was struggling with the high toss because he is a very impatient player and the change in rhythm and speed of the serve was difficult for him. he deals best with quick and fast stuff.

Brilliant. I observed this game very closely. Felix is fearless and has crazy reaction speed, hugo is a boss player, hugo is very calm and calculated, hugo is very physical, hugo gives it his all on his shots. High intensity games. It was a big flex from felix on winning the fourth game. Felix winning the 5 game was mind blowing, the 5th game was the most crucial game.

Très beau match avec 2 joueurs très fort. Pour moi Félix doit travailler ces services, trop sont donnés gratuitement a l'adversaire et à ce niveau la punition peut vite arriver

Looks like Lebrun’s reflexes are slightly faster than Calderano’s. He could recover a split second faster to attack the next ball.

I think that has always been a problem for Hugo, that's why he steps away from the table and hits HARD. The Xu Xin analogy makes a lot of sense actually, Hugo is like if xu xin had an insane chiquita.but Felix stays closer to the table, remains always aggressive, annd just proved to be more consistent in this match, near the end of course.

Ма Лонг выиграл Феликса достаточно простой тактикой: он постоянно давал ему под бэкхенд, то центре, то более косо. Феликс не доставал. И изредка Ма Лонг давал Феликсу под форхенд, только тогда, когда это очевидно выигранное очко. Кальдерано, почему-то, так же делать не стал. У него были очень быстрые удары под форхенд, и он выигрывал, но он даже не пытался задушить в бекхенд, как это сделал Ма Лонг.

Absolutely. I was wondering why the commentators never mentioned it. He didn't seem to be too handicapped by it, but it must have been at least distracting for him. Nevertheless, Felix managed to turn things around, after having been somewhat clueless at the end of the second game.

It's starting to be annoying talking about Felix just as a youngster, he's not only young but he's one of the best at his game. Stop the fucking agism. He's old enough to play competitive and old enough to win competitive games. Do some real commentary.

Despite Hugo's illegal serving tactics in several of his serves by blocking the view of the ball with his tossing hand, he still lost. He used this tactic in all of his games quite a lot in the past. The examples: @11:58, @13:11, @16:04, @16:48, @17:10, @18:08, @26:45, @35:55.
