There is a simple explanation why no one has succeeded at bringing peace to Palestine and Israel. The explanation can be found in what Mahatma Gandhi said on November 26, 1938, (nearly 83 years ago!) Mahatma Gandhi wrote in Harijan, the news Weekly of opinion, on November 26, 1938, that Peace is based on Justice. It is always based on Justice. In other words, “No justice, no peace”. So long as any peace proposal is not based on justice for the Palestinians, there will be no peace in the Middle East. So, to find answers regarding how to resolve the almost eternal Israel-Palestine conflict, I suggest simply: Read what Mahatma Gandhi, the man of peace, wrote before the British forcibly took over the land where Palestinians lived, and gave the land to the Jews for the creation of Israel. Why are some of my fellow Indians (particlarly some Hindus) in the comment section barring some, failing to realize that Israel has illegally occupied Palestinian lands ? Is it because of religious battles ? I'm not an Islam apologist by any stretch of imagination but this is a humanitarian issue. Now, you guys will say that those Muslims have not spoken about the plight on the Hindus of East Pakistan and Kashmir. That doesn't mean they have directly funded or all of them have supported it. Some Palestinians and Muslims also target Jews saying they should be exterminated, e.g., Hamas leadership. But, the person who speaks against the Israel the most is Noam Chomsky who itself is a Jew. Unfortunately international relations are based on practical needs, not ideals. Take the partition vote over Palestine in UN. India voted against partition because it believed that Jews and Arabs should live together. Pakistan, ironically, voted against partition too but their reason was different. They voted against partition because they didn't want Muslims to lose power. Which was hypocritical considering that they had demanded a nation claiming that Muslims as a minority were unsafe and had the right to a separate state because two religions cannot live in one land under one law.

I think our foreign policy regarding the Israel that our country had boundaries till the trade and defence relations India decided to not involve more than that Israel knows very well that if India had started taking stand on either of the side it may strain our relations with Arab world. Which shows effects imports of petroleum and HR. Hamas's formation was assisted initially by israel as a means to divide the Palestinian people. Hamas won a fair democratic election which didn't suit US or israeli plans so they cancelled "democracy" replacing it with a siege and collective punishment for daring to make their own decisions. PA is corrupt and under the thumb of the occupiers. Because the west is so hypocritical regarding claims of "fighting for freedom and justice" Hamas is their only choice.
