Mahalo nui loa to everyone who took part. We all need to stand together not just for Mauna Kea but for ALL of Hawaii. The Hawaii I grew up with is slowly changing, not for the good but for the bad. Pollution, disrespect of the land, drugs, robbery, violence, and things that Hawaii doesn't need taking over what once was good. Make Hawaii Beautiful Again

@@pawshands9706 Hawaii became a US state on August 21, 1959, following a referendum in which at least 93% of voters approved of statehood. By then, most voters were Native Hawaiian. The 1959 referendum did not have an option for independence from the United States.

I live in Honokaa and I am blessed to have chance to pass in front of this beautiful Maura Kea twice a week. She stands there so divine, you can just feel sacredness of this special mountain. Human would do anything for the name of Science, and $$. I think sometimes we need to step back and not interfere with Mother Nature, especially thinking of History of this Island, and people of this Island want to left her alone.

Mahalo for posting this. It's the first I've heard of this project. You can bet for everyone in the video there are maybe a hundred who would have liked to be but didn't know about it. The entire SF Bay Area was missing(except for San Mateo) and there are thousands here who stand with you. We also stand with all our First Nation people, wherever they live. Our struggles are related. Ku Kia'i Mauna.

Back in my home land, people heard of this movement in Russia. We felt sorry the land was being taken. In Moscow the movement was being heard of, Volgograd is where it started off I think. This is what my cousin told me at least. I live and was born in Hawaii (same with my mother). We've been here for generations and its pretty sad that it had to happen.
