Most Australian people you meet would never admit that Australia has a race issue. I remember getting into a heated debate with a man who just couldn't accept that the music he loved, rock n roll, originated in the black community.

Most Australians? No: some. Australian lawyers, in particular, have continuously pressed governments to address and reduce the disparity in opportunity faced by Australians of aboriginal descent. It's a disparity which exists in most countries where a small indigenous population has been displaced, in the past, by a large and different ethnic group with more advanced technology - on virtually every continent. Some governments take it seriously, others don't. And it's worth pointing out rock n roll actually was a multiracial invention - in the US South in the mid-1950s. Great black and white musicians blended delta blues, Chicago blues, gospel, country and bluegrass and produced something new. The greatest early rock records were made by black and white musicians and singers, collaborating. The great session musicians who played on decades of rock and roll hits in New York, Memphis, Muscle Shoals and Detroit, combined black and white musicians and singers. Influential white rock bands of the 1960s, like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin frequently referenced their respect and admiration for the black musicians who inspired them. But you're right - some people know very little about how rock and roll developed.

Yeh. I been to Oz and they hate the blax there. They got a fucking candy with a tar baby cartoon on it called Sambo. Anyone who doesn't have the skin complexion of the original ancestors is called something like a mud wallow or something. That shit's deep in Ozzy culture, yo.

Oceania? What continent is that? Apart from one that might exist in a James Cameron film? Love Nai Palm though. Just edit that in
