Something i noticed on this latest read through (i think this is my fourth) taylor and her passenger switch places. Its a gradual process thrpighput the chapter, but its pretty clear by the end that the 'passenger' she is refering to is actually taylor traped in a body controlled by her power. When amy broke taylors power free from all reatrictions, that included the manton effect stopping her power from working on herself, it formed something of a feedback loop, the power took control of itself, and in the end it held complete control over taylor. The taylor we hear from throughout the chapter is that multitasking section of her power subconsious that is becoming more and more disconnected from the rest of her. In the end the original taylor is the passenger, just along for the ride in her own body. A swarm of one.

I dunno, I thought the ending tied her character to the themes of the story quite well. Whether the final interlude satisfies you or not is up to you I guess
