Is this working one year later? Seems like it’ll be too wet for the worms?

Yes,it is working and working well. No it isnt too wet. With the drainage the compost worms can stay above the excess water. They do need quite moist conditions.

@@tomkendall8416 awesome. Glad to hear. I know overly wet worm bins can attract maggots. And kill worms if too anaerobic so I’m glad it’s working for you. Cheers!

Is it possible to incorporate the two, together? A reed bed worm grease trap? Or is it essential to keep the two separate, as in the reed bed and the worm grease trap?

Hi Niki, yes you will need to have them separated. The worms will drown in the reed bed. The outflow of the grease trap can fall directly into the reed bed if you wish to have them close proximity.

as the grease starts to decompose by the worms, would the detritus got flushed down your piping and end up cloaking your outlet?

The grease and other materials become worm castings which stay on the shade cloth, mostly. Some deposits will go down the piping but quite minimal.
