I like to think NSH was right with the rot, even if it's not the best way to truly end immortality, having an living, tumorous mass of parasitic machine rust overtake your body, its still the closest thing to living life how it was meant to be lived. That's why dying as Hunter is an ending, cause you escaped the cycles, and in a world where everyone is technically immortal because of them, it's a big achievement.

pretty sure Hunter was just a rush-job and developed the rot during their creation completely on accident. but i can definitely see NSH leaving the infection within them anyway because 1) there's no time to waste to help Moon, and 2) it IS probably the next best way to escape the cycle, aside from taking a dip in the void sea

I don’t think Hunter actually escapes the cycles thou, when dying after cycle 0, they’ll probably either 1) get reborn into another creature while the rot occupies hunter’s old body 2) still alive when become HLL but they will still die after a long time when the cancer dies as well and get reborn either way. i

@@Bella-ec2ed i agree with that. i imagine for a while they will be alive but incapacitated/unconscious because the rot is controlling their body. not an ideal 'escape', but assuming they wouldn't mentally be present in the moment certainly makes it a temporary break from the cycles. but i agree that they would inevitably die and rebirth in another body anyway, which is why i think it's unlikely NSH took that into consideration when deciding to leave the rot inside them

@@archdruidbookwalter951 The only long legs that eat other long legs are the terror long legs, which do not exist in Hunter's campaign. DLLs & BLLs will always ignore each other. Also, I think both BLLs & DLLs will ignore Hunter long legs, too. I'll have to test that. Edit: I was wrong DLLs will eat BLLs, however I was right that both ignore HLLs

? Hunter has an eye scar too, it's just not easily visible on some official art. Look closely on their sleeping sprite + on their portrait icon (iirc the one for multiplayer?) and you'll see what I mean.
