Always fun watching you.. Mesquite is quite hard and tough with a specific gravity of .67-.83. That compares to hickory with sg .64 to .81. And desert ironwood with sg of .97 to 1.21. So the wood is tough on hands when chips fly out. Years ago wormy wood like this we just thru it into the wood stove for heat.. I have rescued so much with the advent of resin and color over the last 4-5 years.. I do do what you did here is use a dermel tool to grind out where worms have packed in behind where they have been.. I also like to grind out cracks in this way and fill with 5 minute colored resin.. Thanks.. It was fun watching..

Hi Doug, that is gorgeous. The colour of the resin is perfect for the grain of the Mesquite. There must be some very fat worms around after they gorged on the wood. Love it Doug. Take care. Cheers, Huw

Turned out nice Doug. I've had that bubbling happen to me too I think it was from either the stain or the sealer still gassing out when I put the finish on. Keep on smiling.

Definitely nice. I enjoy seeing what you come up with . I myself when comes to woodworking stuff usually I just goof around with scrap lumber my brother gets from barn building company he works for. Usually I'm just tracing stuff out with a jig saw or messing around with a wood burning pen. I don't personally make anything super fancy just basic beginner stuff. I definitely enjoyed watching what you create. I myself just started making KZbin videos as well. Been doing it since August of last year. Wish good luck on your channel and hope you have good day.

That is great. That teal looks awesome in those holes. I can't tell u how many times I walk into the shop do some work then walk back in with new cuts that I can't figure out where they came from. Goes with the territory I guess. Take it easy and have a good one.

A very pretty piece! Also, I would've covered that cut up with a bandage as soon as possible. Especially if it's going to be covered in sawdust like that.
