Worn Polybushes

I think the reason for the failure might be a lack of lubrication. Poly bushes have to be re lubed once in a while even if they have some lube retaining texture between the metal and the bush itself (like on the new Powerflex) although it will definietly last a lot longer like that. .

I disagree, I have had other cars with polybushes that have never had this problem, the bushes I replaced these ones with over 4 years ago now are still solid as they were when new, the man who made these bushes acknowledged that they were shonky, when I complained to him about it he said something like "oh yes, those are the ones i made that shrink" he offered to replace them (not including fitting of course, I declined.

@@mikestinyshedofdreams oh ok that aklso explains it. But the main problem on poly bushes often is the one i mentioned, but when they shrink, you cant do anything about it :D

Won't go wrong with PowerFlex yellow/purple or SuperPro...

There looks to be a big step in quality with the new bushes. There's loads of bloody air bubbles in the original bushes from the manufacturing process.

I think the grade of PU, the mixing of compounds plus QC of curing temperature differs quite a bit among the PU bush manufacturers out there. Shore hardness should be between 88A to 95A for these types of bushes?

I've been learning a bit about silicone mould making recently and it helps to put the silcone in a vacuum degasser to remove any air from the solution before it is poured, I don't like being rude but it was a mistake to buy these bushes from this man, he clearly should not be making them as he is not up to the job

@@whlawson5812 yeah I'm talking about PU bushes too but I suspect the method of making PU bushes is similar to making silicone moulds, one step being degassing the solution to remove bubbles before pouring.

What brand of poly bush are those? Caramel china bush? They are shot! Have you had any experience with Strongflex polybushes? Planning to replace my rear suspension with these

they are from a smal time parts supplier called classicswede, he had a lot of excuses and offered me some other bushes to replace these, his bushes have a terrible reputation so I'm done with his stuff. I got some powerflex in the end.

Sorry I only just noticed your reply, I would go with superpro or powerflex, these bushes are not made by these company, superpro and powerflex are twice the cost of these bushes so I tried them thinking what could go wrong, they were made by a small company specialsing in making Volvo parts... I've already had a car with superpro bushes and it was sweet, and like I saw in the vid I replace the faulty bushes with some powerflex ones which have been fine since (the car is turbo'd at 1 bar so the rubber bushes won't survive 1000 miles) I also recently fitted a set of superpro to a friends car, they really are good.
