The Barnsley singer and film maker Dave Cherry teams up with John Irwin to look at Barnsley's ‘jewel in the crown’ The Worsbrough Mill.
Using archive and fantastic drone footage of the area he returns to the run down mill he visited as a child and where he learnt to swim.
The local people called it the ‘goit’ which is an old word for a ‘mill race’
Barnsley council have invested in the restoration of the mill and it attracts thousands of visitors a year.
He follows the local railway and we see how the mill was in the Sixties and Seventies.

I proposed to my wife by Worsbro' reservoir in 1987. Spent lots of time there as my grandparents lived in Dovedale, Worsbro' Bridge.

Love watching your vlogs I've just bought the two books about Worsbrough 'wat nah' and 'nah then' by Worsbrough local history society. The film goes past my house nice to see what it looked like all those years ago. Very interesting I love looking at books and videos and remembering how things were. Keep up the good work look forward to your next video 😄😀
