The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional Qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath. The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy. This is the first time he heard Dimash. He came out of retirement after seeing this competition to begin his collaboration with Dimash.

You may not use the word greatest but I do. I studied classically and I know his vocal techniques are far beyond anyone on this earth. Now age 30, he has studied classically for 25 years and live his life from age 5 rehearsing 6 hours a day. Most opera singers have a three to three and a half octave range while Dimash has well over 7 octaves of range.

The woman was holding a poster with the name Dimash in Russian - Димаш To my great regret, the English translation does not even approximately convey the beauty of this poetry in Russian This singing technique, which Dimash used at the end, is one of the ways of national folk singing in Kazakhstan.

The song was originally done by a group called A Studio. The lead singer had passed away and dimash paid homage to him by doing the chanting in this performance which is a tradition in Kazakhstan when someone passes away. The rest of group a studio was assisting dimash in this particular performance on stage

I have to agree. Subjective things shouldn't take the label of "best". However, I don't think singing is the case. Otherwise there wouldn't be Music / Singing schools and colleges and universities. He's a doctor in Music and he's been working on his craft ever since he was 5. Even if you don't like a style or two that he sings in, there's no denyning the dude is a MASTER in vocals, performance, composition and basically anything relating to the world of MUSIC. There is not a song that covers his full range. “ Stranger” covers about 5 octaves, but “The Story of One Sky” showcases a lot of what he can do (not all though).

Did you catch that the last section with all those runs was all on the one breath? That ancient middle eastern sounding trill, just after his 'manprano' section was a traditional Kazakh mourning vocalisation which Dimash inserted into the performance - without prior notice to this original Kazakh band [ A-Studio] as a mark of his respect to the original lead singer. { Sinful Passion was composed by that singer and the pianist, you see there on stage. You can find the original clip on line}. # Yes. Dimash has a lot of 'reserve in the tank'! Including his rich full Bari-Tenor range. Have a listen to this in 'Ti Amo Cosi', (performed with the spectacular singer whom he idolised as a young student; Lara Fabian, and the emerging great Lyric Soprano; Aida Garifulina.) Both of whom joked he could sing all 3 parts if they ever dropped out! 🤣 This might well have had some influence on his later composition and performance of 'El Amor En Ti'. Enjoy. 😊

If a singer exhibits head shake, it's because the resonance the voice is generating is very great and causes the head to vibrate. It is not voluntary. You can see Dimash in many performances where he exerts a huge amount of resonance which results in his head vibrating to the heavy frequency vibrations. It very likely comes from his classical voice training. I noted that Placido Domingo exhibited some head shaking during his duet with Dimash this last December.

These middle easter sound (melisma) he does in one or another song. It’s really awesome. The thing with the flowers has something to do with respect for the artist. It's a cultural thing. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound may be missing. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. Many a youtube reactor and vocal coach has indicated they are "not the kind of person" to use the word "best" to describe something or someone that is subject to personal taste but over the course of time and dozens of Dimash videos down the road have enthusiastically crowned him the best. You will need 10-12 performances in multiple styles and languages to begin to understand the scope of his talent. I understand completely. I get super annoyed when people think judging a vocalist is subjective, as if just because you prefer someone that makes them better🙄🙄 Totally ridiculous. I am a Metal gal and Dimash has yet to create one song in my prefered genre. (Hopefully, it is simply a matter of time🤩😅) I judge like I would an Olympic Vocal Athlete. Qualities like range, quantity of different vocal skills mastered, emotive skills, strength, breath control, lung capacity etc. etc. If you judge objectively, Dimash is the only person on the planet, at this time, capable of being given the Platinum Medal for Vocal Athleticism. Dimash has perfect pitch and sounds the same Live, in Studio, in the Rain, and in a Stairwell. 100's of fan cams prove this. For a larger range of vocal techniques in one song, try "Stranger" Live New Wave "When I've Got You" music video would give a change of genre. Dimash is also interested in the cinematic arts. You're so right about not seeing his full span /range (it's hard to think of a song that makes sense to do all what he can do though lol) . I'd recommend next to be Olymipico (epic, grandiose) or Stranger (exotic) they are both very unique and different from these 2 you have reacted to, but both are brilliant. In general I think people are more impressed with the former but Stranger is definitely a must watch. If you want to see something utterly crazy then try Unforgettable Day (the outdoor concert version)

Dimash's skills and talent are incredible. But I also love when he has a more "intimate" tone. Or when he uses his beautiful voice in warmer tones. I recommend two songs that are not given enough consideration, in my opinion.But what do you think you might really like and would introduce you to a slightly different Dimash?. One is "Sagyndym Seni", written by Dimash's father Unfortunately there is no official video, but there are some fan-made ones. But it is definitely worth a listen. And then my favorite "Makhabbat ber magan" . You can always find the latter on his channel, taken from the 2021 Digital Show. The title in English is "Give me love" Both of these songs are in Kazakh, and Dimash really conveys a lot when he sings in his language. I really hope you'll listen to them. Greetings from Italy! 🇮🇹. According you, who is the best singer, ❤ we don’t compare Dimash with other artists because there is no one like him , no one sing the 8 octaves, no one sing in all the genres that Dimash does ❤ no one sing in his vocal range , 13 languages ❤ multi instrumentist ❤ . All means the best , the perfection ❤❤ if you don’t want to recognize that , you need to learn more about music.🎵

Please react to Opera 2. from the "I Am The Singer" show 2017. He is a contestant on this Chinese singing competition and his father is in the audience there to surprise Dimash. It's very touching when Dimash sees him at the end. He keeps asking his dad if he sang well. Make sure to have the captions on so you can see what they are saying. Anyway, "Opera 2" was originally sung by Vitas who in the song only does one key change up. Dimash goes up 3 keys and completely kills the song!! He does it so well!! Rumor has it that Vitas got upset over being shown up and banned Dimash from ever singing his song again. It is a very challenging song to sing and Dimash nails it! The people they show backstage are his fellow competitors and their faces are priceless. A must watch video. Be prepared to be blown away. Hope you are doing well.
