The best practical and applicable breakdown of bass synth on KZbin. It makes so much more sense now. Thanks!

I’m beginning to bring modular gear to church, in our band I’m the lead guitar player. I’m trying not to startle the pastors, so I ended up starting with sub bass. This is a great resource! I noticed that contemporary worship music has a lot of influence from 80s new age/new wave. I’m into 70s progressive and experimental music, and Im working on injecting that kind of meditative, dazzling thing (slowly) into our bands sound.

I really want to say thank you for posting this, and for the downloadable pdf! I happen to have that exact same synth, and I have scratched my head a few times, thinking how I can use it for some of our worship songs. Funky leads, we don’t need so often, but nice low end sounded great, at least when you do it! Thank you!

Idk why but this is the tone I like most even on my electric bass I kill all the treble and play on the fretboard to get that ultra low rumble

Some other (and cheaper) but still great options to the sub phatty is the korg monologue or the arturia microbrute...all three create great synth bass tones

I’m going to buy a Moog. I must be missing something because I don’t see a sustain pedal jack on the Moogs. How are you running the sustain pedal and which pedal are you using?

What's the signal path for the song at the end? Moog > DI? > Mixer? Thanks!

Josue Rivera some fx pedals to marry with any monosynth is usually necessary for the best sound unless they come “on board”.

CCM is super watered down even with Key Bass I just got into it recently from Gospel music and I've noticed most of it is the Same Progressions just different lyric are CCM/Worship Musicians willing to advance their music and Skill or are you guys just ok with the sameness/simpleness of music ? just a question not trying to poke any feathers this is a musician to musician
@Worshiponline2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a question with many, many answers depending on who you ask. For me, I love to experiment with different chords and progressions in my free time and with music I write on the side. I super appreciate intricate and “different” styles compared the the normalcy of CCM. But I also feel there’s a time and place for simplicity (especially when it comes to music that presents the Gospel) for few reasons…but the main reason being that I think overcomplicated instrumental parts can sometimes distract from the message of the song and also the sing-ability of a song. Some of the most powerful, congregational songs (in my opinion) are simple melodies that rely heavily on voices coming together, with the instruments complimenting the moment without overpowering.

I asked Sir-Mix-a-lot on twitter how he made the low bass sounds on "Testarossa". He replied! He said detune the 808's kick drum and stack them on top of each other. I'm not sure if this applies to the sound you are trying to make...

How one can tolerate this kind of low end ..super annoying for a worship ..sounded like a big bug buzzing around ..omg 😭
@willemculpepper21045 жыл бұрын
Nhk Log I’m sure it would sound a lot better when mixed how it would be during a service. He had the bass louder in the mix for demonstrational purposes.

Sub bass isn't a real term
@xxheartbrokexx1004 жыл бұрын
nollid nagrom yes it is.
@xxheartbrokexx1004 жыл бұрын
This isn't technically sub bass though, sub bass is the inaudible bass tones that you feel.
@yaboi-km2qn4 жыл бұрын
@@xxheartbrokexx100 no it's from 20-60Hz so right at the bottom range of what you can hear, this is sub bass.
