That’s why I prepared to seat at the very front row to avoid all the distractions.. We are worshiping the GOD of universe. We forgotten we don’t deserved to be loved by him but he did anyway therefore we must prepared and cleaned our minds before we enter the church. I should remind myself every time I enter the house of GOD.

Isaiah 53:5, he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed. For salvation, people just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in the water and of the spirit. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead. That's what Acts 2:38 is. We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD. We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritan. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, They continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS and the other is a WORK OF FAITH, Obedience to God's command. God told Noah to build an ark to be saved. Noah believed and responded by building the ark. Mark 16:16. If you believe in this message, help spread it in the name of Jesus Christ so people can get saved the right way. God bless you!

I really hope that I can get some feedback and help in this sincere and loving question amongst my brethren in Christ, my question pertains to the church offering. Question: If there is to offer the Lords supper and Giving in the evening services to those who were not able to attend morning services, should all 3 parts of the Lord supper and offering be offered? In other words, if the Lords supper is only to be given and NOT the church offering, is it wrongful not to offer the church offering in the Sunday evening services, should the church offering be left out from the Lords supper?

Hector, Thank you so much for asking your question. Here is something to consider. The Lord's Supper and Giving are two different and separate acts of worship. There are a variety of views upon this subject. Some suggest that you cannot offer the Lord's Supper on Sunday Night and others suggest that you can offer the Lord's Supper on Sunday night. The question must be does it fit the bounds of Scripture. First Day of the Week? Yes. Its still Sunday. Are those who are partaking waiting on one another? Yes. They are partaking together. Are the emblems correct to scripture (Bread and Fruit of the vine)? Yes. It has to be. The offering can also be viewed the same way. Both can be given on Sunday night to those who have not partaken in them.

I cannot remember the names of the preachers that made a good point about not leaving out the Lords supper apart from the offering. The main point that was said was that the Lords supper and the church offering both carry the weight towards each other. In other words, one is not better or of better value than the other, therefore, it is imperative that both the Lords supper and offering must be ordered.

When there is a meal after worship the ladies are busy preparing the food. This is not right so would it be better that their is no church lunch on Sun worship

We could consider having the meal prepared early and so worship is not missed. Nothing would be wrong with a meal but we must put God first.

You have described a church in Richland Hills Texas called the Hills Church led by Rick Atchley and the elders there. By the grace of God I'm no longer a member there and He opened my eyes to what they are doing.

@dsvet Intersting that you say that. I saw their sign for months before I somehow found out they were Church of Christ. I have a good church home, but was going to visit because I had attended the Chick-fil-A Leadercast at one of their campuses. I learned from their website that they have instrumental music, so that stopped that idea. Until now I have not prayed for their hearts to turn, but I just did. Perhaps they will change.

I think people should wear what they want providing their body is covered, they didnt have suites and ties back then, GOD doesnt care about people dressing up, if they want to fine, but for sure not necessary.

Agreed, the only instructions I can find in the New Testament is don’t take concern for what clothes you will wear, plus don’t adorn yourself in marvelous clothing. The idea that we should dress to the nines is actually counter to biblical teachings. I love church of Christ but they’re not perfect.

The question I have is where in the Bible do the denominations misuse scripture to say that working, spending time with family, etc is worship? People don't say things for no reason.

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12. Not sure where you got denomination out of that, and sorry but CoC is a denomination…whether you think so or not. All Christians who believe and follow Christ are Christ’s church, regardless of the name on your building.
