However, the reality of pregnant and postpartum female behavior can be vastly different, ranging from neglecting to killing their young or doing even something worse. You might wonder, can it get any worse? Unfortunately, yes. This type of behavior is observed in adorable domestic hamsters, pigs, our beloved dolphins, hippos, and others.
The idea of being cruel to one's own offspring may seem strange to us humans, who generally give the best of everything to our children. Nonetheless, it's quite common in animals. When I was younger, I had an experience with a stray female dog that left a lasting impression on me. She had given birth to a litter of puppies, but tragically, she accidentally killed them. Despite our efforts to separate the puppies for their safety, the mother dog always found a way to bring them back. This repeated until, heartbreakingly, all of her puppies perished. The aftermath was poignant - she mourned for days, her cries echoing a deep maternal sorrow. This incident, though distressing, highlighted the profound and instinctive bond between a mother and her offspring, even in animals.

When it comes to the worst parents in the world, the most egregious offender was not on the list. That would be the human offender. According to one study, it was learned that some humans butcher their unborn babies in the most barbaric ways.

Animals have better senses than humans do First off, and they can tell when a child of theirs is not right and there's a medical problem or mental problem or anything else going on with the child The normal humans would not be able to detect in their own children just by looking at them smelling them and seeing and hearing them. these animals sometimes to be cruel but the author can also be kind as a merciful by putting something out of its mystery that would never survive anyway.

Domesticated animals, especially farm animals, shouldn't count. If you're imprisoned, forced to reproduce, then kept confined 24/7, you wouldn't act right either. When natural selection goes out the window, so does natural parental care. Every animal is different, in it's biology, and even though many wild animals can get away with poor parenting, domesticated animals would most likely go extinct, if they exhibited the same behavior, in the wild. Not to mention, domestication roughly translates to being entirely dependent on humans, for survival.
