At this point I think we could all say that Vivian Try's is not only entertaining, but a public service. I'm not sure how she is able to afford all these different products, but as a single mom I know she has already saved me so much money. We have all wondered about these types of products and for some of us, it is a luxury to be able to splurge or even wait until the Christmas wish list to be able to try these things. Thank you Vivian for giving us the need to know about these items!

Hi Vivian, I didn't read all the comments, but the Aqua Stone is really just evaporation. The ceramic stone absorbs the water then the water evaporates throughout the day. You could probably set a terracotta planter upside down in a bowl, fill the bowl with water and just set it in the room and it'll do the same thing. Love your videos. :)

They do work and that product is just a fancy version. They will help humidify, but they do not put as large amounts of moisture in the air as a mechanical humidifier does. If you have massive dryness, you probably need something that puts more in the air. Viv...you could have bought a humidity gauge and checked it after a day, they are not expensive (the gauge, that is).

Placing a bowl of water in a room would do the same thing as the aqua bowl because the water evaporates with or without the ball. The amount of humidity is proportional to the amount of water in the bowl. It can’t possibly humidify a very big area.

People should be aware that swamp coolers like 'Arctic Air' WILL NOT WORK AS WELL in high humidity places(which is why you see them on roofs in arid climates and not in humid ones)
@AliP19706 жыл бұрын
I meant to post this on the Aquastone review but you pretty much answered your own question. It is a clay bowl that hasn't been glazed. The measuring cup filled with water was probably releasing the exact same (possibly more) amount of humidity as the "stone" was. It's all done through the magic of EVAPORATION! These are an adult version of the pet rocks that were so popular back in the day. Made & marketed for people with more money than brains (sorry to anyone who owns this) and also to prove that old adage "a fool and his money are soon parted". I had seen all of these, but love the compilations!! Love from Michigan 💜
@TheTroutkitty5 жыл бұрын
The unglazed ceramic bowl would have a massive amount of surface area due to not being glazed. Water in a bowl or a cup can only evaporate at the surface where the air touches it. Due to the fractal nature of ceramic surfaces at the microscopic level, that surface area is a thousand times larger, each square inch of it allowing for more evaporation to take place. It's simple science, and it's why the water all but wicked into the stone due to capillary action.

Arctic Air is my savior during summer months here in AZ. It is a dry heat so the swamp personalAC is perfect. I keep my on at night instead of of my reg AC in my bedroom and it keeps my room very cool. I do have to sit it on on top of a bowl leveling it because of the water leakage issue and it works great that way. The money it saves me on electricity is quite a bit! I do think the 39.95 price is a bit a pricey for it and I agree it should be only 19.99 but like I said it saves you a lot I the AC bill!
@kimberlyfaure18456 жыл бұрын
Just for the RECORD. I listened to the commercial throughly before I bought it. It CLEARLY said for personal space. I do NOT do heat well, so I bought two. One for the living room, one for the bedroom. I love mine. At night, mid morning it even gets a little too cool so I turn it off. I am having the best sleep EVER in summer because of this little thing. It gets a 10 in my home. Average temperature here is upper 90s and triple digits.
@xxxxx75126 жыл бұрын
Kimberly Faure, I agree with you. I use one at my desk and find it cools my space nicely. I have to believe the infomercial made this seem like a replacement for a window air conditioner, and that's what many people think - that it should cool down an entire room when the cooler is just for personal space around you. I think it should have sold for $10 less. Like for you, mine is great! Also, this cooler is no new idea, they've been around for years.

New Subbie! Thanks for sharing. So far the only thing I’ve bought “As Seen on TV” that actually does what it claims are the outdoor light shows that come with boxes of slides for just about every occasion! The plus side is they can be left outdoors year round. I have MS/Multiple Sclerosis which makes it difficult for me to go outside, plug things in, etc... It comes with a timer so I have no worries there but... (and there’s always a but, right) When you see the ad on TV it appears you can purchase 2 by “just paying the extra shipping” WRONG! Oh you can purchase how ever many you want. I needed 2 as I live in a huge 12 room Colonial style house that’s 2 stories tall. So, I purchased 2 & when I got my bank statement I was billed for 2 plus shipping & handling on both. Not the money I’d planned on spending but I did learn a valuable lesson. The other items purchased are now in an active “class action lawsuit”! No kidding!!! Anyone else buy those hoses that “magically” shrink back up on their own once you turn the water off? They’re lightweight & come in different sizes. Sounds & looks great, right? I order 2 of the longest ones offered; 125 feet long. One for the front yard, another for the backyard. Light weight, as I can’t drag a heavy hose around due to my disability. Fact; they lasted a few times then they sprung leaks all over the place! Total fail! About 7/8 months ago I received a post card in the mail letting me know there was an actual class action lawsuit against the company that manufactured them. I’m still waiting to hear any more but this does tell me if we make enough calls about lousy products with false advertisement that somehow, someday, something will happen! Just not sure what, when or how much we’ll actually get back! I loved your reviews, so much fun & a money & time saver for all of us watching! I’d thought about buying the nail “clipper”... yeah right; the nail killer 😂 to use on my 2 Toy Poodles. Thank goodness I didn’t waste my money! First of all it’s so loud that both of them would’ve still been hiding from me & secondly it probably would’ve injured them. I can imagine it might have splintered their little toe nails! 😳 Sorry my comment is so long. I just wanted to share a few of my findings along with the warning that when they offer buy 2 for an additional fee, it’s not just the cost of shipping & handling! I was just lucky that I needed the 2 outdoor light sets. Oh, they can be used indoors too as they include an extra base that sits flat on the floor along with the outdoor one with a spike that goes in the ground. I’m so happy I stumbled across your channel. I’m a Great Grandmother, widowed & living on a very tight income so I can’t afford to buy useless throw away items! {{{ HUGGZ }}} ~Su from N E Ohio I’ll be sharing your channel with family & friends. One last comment; I think you’d get more humidity in a small room by just going outdoors, picking out some pretty rocks & stones, putting them in a shallow bowl & pouring some water over top! 😂
@sesimiller51696 жыл бұрын
just fyi- we have used a Pedipaws(NOT the item vivian reviewed here) on our jack russells for years, id say theres a bit of a learning curve, and for sure wouldn't try it on great dane nails, for example, BUT we trim first w whatever device you like, THEN i smooth them and round them with the pedi tool.. its not super strong, pretty much a "baby dremel" but it works the way we use it! The Arctic Air cooler definitely does work well. The first one I bought was defective, but the 2nd one works wonders. It's an evaporative cooler so the humidity in the air has to be 15% or less or it will not work. So the more humid states, wont work, dry western states will work great.

Vivian. The arctic air appears to be an evaporative cooler. It has a filter in the back that probably needs to get soaked with water so that is why the water level went down so quickly. It most likely does run for 8 hours before the filter dries out. I also think that the water leaking issue will resolve itself once that filter gets completely soaked. Just mho.

Somebody gave me an Arctic Air. I needed a fan. It was defective. The wires were crossed and the fan rotated the wrong way and it was pushing air through the filter which killed any breeze created by the Arctic Air fan. I did not switch the wires back. Instead I took out the filter and left it open. I pointed it straight at my face and believe it or not, it was very effective and I felt relief... I just use it as a personal fan, and to dry my nails. Works great. Very effective for a fan that runs on usb.

The cooler is nothing new; it's an old-fashioned "swamp cooler" It cools via evaporation of the water, so water temp is not that important.
@Tedybear3155 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Most are not understanding that that type of 'cooler' is highly dependent upon the current humidity. Down in the dry areas it works fantastic!. Get it up in my area (NYS) it won't do much of anything, as our 'heat' includes a buttload of humidity. So the product is either a waste of money, or a true gem! But do your research and ensure it's what you really need.

Hey Viv ... you are adorable! I just had to say you pick the worst items to demo :) ... The aqua stone was working PERFECTLY!!!! The 'stone' is supposed to be unglazed so that the ceramic pearl will absorb the water. It helps the water evaporating really quickly. The humidifying itself happens over days and days as the water evaporates into the air around you ... actually you really don't need the stone ... a bowl of water will work just as well ... its kinda cute though!!!!

I'm so glad you reviewed the magnifying eye makeup glasses! I had the exact same problems you had and really resented the fact that no instructions were included. But even if there were instructions, they're designed to fail. Even if the magnifying lens gave you a nice clear image (which it obviously doesn't), the eye that you're putting the makeup on has a lower frame and temple (side) piece, so how the hell are you supposed to get in there with a mascara brush or eyeliner? Crap, total crap. First video I've ever seen of yours....I like your style and have become a subscriber.

I had that stupid aqua stone! I got mine on clearance and it grew mold when I used it for a month even after changing the water. It is a good decoration though.

It's called evaporation, lol! I saw the Reheatza at Walmart and I asked the checker about it and she shook her head no..

That mini cooler is nothing more than a swamp cooler on a miniature stage. Swamp coolers are awesome 👌

Here's my take on all this stuff: #1; Artic Air- It's nothing more than a miniature "swamp cooler". I threw the one I bought away because even with ice cold water it didn't work any better than a regular fan with a bowl of ice in front of it. Don't waste your money. #2; Reheatza- Are you kidding me?😲🤔🙄 You could do better with a ceramic bowl and a paper towel. Don't waste your money. #3; The Spray Nail Polish- Not going to weigh in on it because I'd never use it (being a guy that is). #4; Easy Make Up Glasses- If a person had extremely bad eye sight they might be able to use it... Although they'd probably have to have the hands and patience of a sculpture. #5l Roto Clippers- Vivian, I don't know if the head (where the rotating blade is) can be attached in either direction (can it flip either way and still be attached) but that might be something to check on, other than that I think you're right. It probably does need multiple speed settings. I'd never use one, I like my regular old finger nail clippers too much. I will say from what you demonstrated here, I wouldn't use them on a dog. #6; Aqua Stone- All it is, is a decorative piece that works no better than filling a water pitcher with water, wetting a towel and placing over the top of it. It works via "natural evaporation". I don't think it's made for those that really suffer heavily from dry air. In that case, A powered humidifier is needed. Miss Vivian, I'm sorry to say that as much as I enjoyed watching this video.... Gurlfriend, They Seen You Coming From A Mile Away!!! You've Been Had!!! 😎🤦♂️🤷♂️😢

she hasn't been "had"... shes testing them BECAUSE they are crap.. and its comedy.. i don't believe she actually has high expectations for any of it.. but every once in a very blue moon, a product actually does what it claims & is a win, or 5 vivian heads...

i sit corrected! i am someone who lives for sarcasm and am often called a "witch", (no, i spelled that correctly, lol) by my family, its because of my intuition, & yet, i TOTALLY missed it here, i fell hook, line & sinker for your dry humor, touché! whew.. i'm actually kinda relieved you weren't taking it all too seriously.. like i apparently was! lol.. thanks for your response, but sorry that i even needed an explanation, smh..

Vivian, the first time that you fill the little personal cooler thing, a lot of the water goes into the filter. I had one of those and it worked okay for really small room and it did run for about 8 hours on low as long as the filter is full of water and the little place where you put water is full. However, after about 3 months it didnt work as well as when I first got it. And the little colorful lights stopped working.

Funny story about the Aqua stone. I've had one for years. I'm looking at it right now. ....Anyways. I made a homemade egg incubator to hatch chicken eggs and right before hatch day you have to jack up humidity to 70% and that's rough to do in Arizona where we can't even get clouds. I ended up throwing my Aqua stone in the incubator and aimed the fan right at it. Boy did that thing pump out moisture! But useless for a room larger than a closet, for sure.
