Exactly the same in LoL. Everyone champion has weaknesses, for example, you can counter a Leblanc by building tenacity, get your team to help you deny her bluebuff, she can't kill anyone without it, Deny her farm, if you're counterpicked that requires help from the jungle. LoL is a teamgame, and as such, you need your team to help you with harder matchups.

Its not just that. I think its collectively about how many resources need to be dumped into killing a certain champion with a certain amount of gold in a certain scenario. I mean, its kind of rightfully so that Assassins can do way more than other champs with the same or less amount of gold. Its fair if they can be bursted too. If they run too little of a risk for high rewards then thats when they are broken. Each type of hero has their niche. Balance is having the option for counterplay. IMO

for the first part of your comment, that actually can go the other way around. the fed carry can keep killing, causing the underfarmed enemy team to lose even more gold and snowball the game further. in league there are many ways to counterpick heroes. you can lane swap and there are pick/ban orders to essentially prevent that from happening. you can also itemize and call for jungle ganks. no hero is a hard counter to anyone in league. its who is better, and that theory also prevails in dota.

In LoL you have supports that are mostly packed with CC,and their spells don't cost half the mana like in Dota,so there is no need for such items.Even if Orchid or sheepstick was available in LoL,adcs wouldn;t buy it,just supports would have even more CC now.

Its much more easier in DotA to shutdown the enemy carry because they ofc miss lh and xp but also lose money on death. The thing is that in LoL you basically need to counter pick enemy heroes or you are mostly screwed which in my opinion is unbalanced. There should be a way to still be effective even against counterpicks or other heroes that are fed or just destroying everything. That is only possible in DotA because of the item variety like Orchid, BkB, Abyssal, force staff etc.
