Really interesting Q&A session, thanks guys. What a horrendous experience on the M1, as a former police officer I can never understand why we don’t evacuate people who are stuck like they do in other countries. Turn them around and get them off from the previous junction. I believe they do this in Germany. As for not checking up on people and getting water supplied by the Highways Agency that’s just appalling. Just a thought have you tried Arnica cream on your bruises? I get frequent burst blood vessels in my hands and it is absolutely brilliant, I put it on immediately and it’s remarkable.

We bought some reclaimed cushions, but I didn't like the colour, so I bought throws and fitted them. I just had enough material to do all end cushions and the settee as well. We are well impressed and all turned out great xxx

Driving down the drive it’s very bumpy and rough, oh it’s just because it gravel thinks me 🙄 turns out upon getting out further down towards the entrance it I’d left the jockey wheel down 😮 yep, wheel ruined! Never did that again. lol 😉

wow ! - we had our Caravan re-upholstered by a local company - £900 , which I thought was expensive but just shows you! has taken years off the caravan though so worth every penny - love the channel btw !

@@keithandmichele Hi- be happy to , it was a local seamstress who does this sort of work. She supplied all the fabric and did the work to a very high standard. We are relatively new to caravanning so bought a wobblebox that was a few years old incase we didn't like it etc etc - modernising the interior has given the van a new lease of life. However- I am not sure how happy she would be for me giving her contact details over YT . Jeanette has just told me that quite a few caravanners have recommended upholstery covers made by a company called Shien - very easy to fit and they transform the look of the seating - worth a look. My caravan story. Back in the eighties we were living in Duesseldorf, and dragged our caravan down to Sorrento in Southern Italy. On arriving at our pre-booked site, a large very busy site, we were informed we would have to wait until a pitch became available. We took the opportunity to park up, and stroll into and around Sorrento on a little touristic sojourn. When we arrived back at the site it was in uproar. Unbeknown to us, well me really, I had parked our car and van across the entrance to an annexe to the main site, trapping everybody who wanted to leave, and preventing anyone wanting to enter. Oh how we laughed! nobody else did, mind!

Regarding the cost of the upholstery, there is a reason that loads of people advise you take the cushions out of the caravan when you are not using it, the scumbags won't steal them if they have no cushions!

Thumbs up! Enjoyed those Q's & A's. Our worst journey was last year on way to Hornsea and took a detour to avoid queuing traffic near York and ended up through a series of events and traffic in York city centre with an 8m 8' twin axle...an experience i wouldn't like to repeat. We were in Blackpool for the day last week after staying at a lovely site at Frecklington (beside USAAF Warton) and saw everything from fighter jets flying low over us to Barn Owls hunting at 10am (must have had young hunting at that time of day we were told. Re seagulls...they were attacking anyone leaving or entering my workplace until recently even though it was doubtful any of us would climb 30ft up onto the roof where their young were! Look forward to the next one!

Great video of experiences with the caravan. Ours was when the family all went to France. The exhaust on our VW camper broke. We were marroned in this small town in the market. My Mum went off in a merc with a french man and came back with the exhaust. We all still remember it. When clearing out Mum's house we found the jug which she bought in the town. I used a chunk of my inheritance to buy my own caravan so the adventures will continue x

Hi Both very interesting story about the Motorway, we were also in that giant tailback, we were coming back from Scarborough with our Caravan in tow but did not have any water in the tank for a brew (lesson learnt there) and everything you said was true, it took us 11 hours to get back to the Midlands, up to that point it was a great Holiday, great Video as always Regards Bob

My worse nightmare journey was our first trip to France back in the’80s. Towing our old Trailer Tent through Nantes on the way to the Vendee in days before Sat Nav. Had a rough idea of direction but ended up in the centre of Nantes and took a turning one junction before the correct one. It was the road leading to a church and a dead end. Had several cars behind so had to disconnect the TT and just managed to turn both round before head off in the right direction. Still reminded of it even after all these years, especially as we will be going round Nantes in a just over a week😂 Another great video👏

Hi both. Must agree with you Keith on cost of caravan spears all manufacturers and dealers are ripping us off. If I need parts for the van I will break my butt to try and find an automotive alternative. One example gas struts for lockers bed's Ect. Car struts work out to half or more price than caravan equivalent. As for Michael doing the filming and editing the videos Deb and me think she is doing an excellent job 👏 👍. Thanks for sharing

Fab to hear you are not intending to move towards product reviews . I watch You Tube for enjoyment and relaxation . There are so many channels to which I have unsubscribed simply due to the amount of plugging product reviews . It’s such a shame. I think the problem is too many channels have moved away from the “Fun” element and are now looking at commercial advantage . I don’t blame them but those channels are not for me . Please may I ask you a question? I didn’t realise (being new to caravanning) that you had to pay extra for awning? If we bought a porch awning would we still need to pay extra for this as it would be a lot smaller but the right size for us and is it still classed as an awning or a porch? It really is such a minefield of info! I honestly thought when you booked a pitch you could have anything on there (within reason) I didn’t realise there was add on charges !

Hi @Bessie66 Many thanks for your question. In our experience, after many years of caravanning, we’ve never had to pay extra for an awning connected to the caravan at any of the sites we’ve visited. Some do state there are additional charges for gazebos or tents, or they’re not allowed at all. We understand that some sites are now changing things, like additional charges for electricity, but again we haven’t come across that yet. If in doubt, you should call the site directly to confirm. I thought you were going to say £350 pounds for the cushions, and even that is expensive.....what a rip off. Anything to do with Caravans, Children and Dogs we find has a ridiculous markup. I bet a small, local, independent reupholstery business would offer cheaper. We use just soft throws from Dunelm, they're so cheap and you can actually cut them down to size to make them fit even better. Fab video as ever. Gavin ps I used to own a couple of Optometrist practices.....I won't tell you the mark we used to get in that line of business 😮

Hi, Keith and Michele, (not sure if it is one 'l' or two l's, sorry Michele/Michelle). I can't beat your ridiculous re-upholstery price but... I wanted a piece of 'Salinas Ash' coloured fake wood for my caravan television bracket, to match the wooden furniture. It was roughly 8" x 6" x 5/8" and they wanted £160!!! Needless to say, I didn't bother. Thanks, Keep up your great vlogs.

Enjoyed this one guys, and have watched from the start , but now u tubing has become saturated with people doing the same thing over and over same sites same toilets same village No sure where you go from here ? But so pleased about your product review bit.There are u tuber’s that do a vlog/ blog on an item best thing ever then with in a day it’s on e bay and they are selling it.E bikes seen a few saying brilliant best bike then gone well done on that front Cheers bill
