During the period when Hansie cronje was captain that team was strongest team I've ever seen. Later Australia took this place from 1999 to 2003..After that I didn't see any team with such huge dominance..

But South Africa tragically tied that semis in 1999 and after Cronje scandal South Africa has never been the same formidable side . To this day I can’t comprehend Why Klusener didn’t hit another boundary to cap off the victory. 1 run of 4 balls was a nothing Task . If South Africa made it to the final then they would have ushered in a new era of dominance. Players like Gibbs , Kirsten , Kallis , Cronje , Rhodes , Boucher , Pollock , Klusener and Donald are born Once in a lifetime. Only Pakistan 🇵🇰 had the similar power . Australia 🇦🇺 had a mediocre team in 1999 Except for Shane Warne .

well i disagree that pak were a strong force in 2000s because the period of 2000s lies from 2000-2009 and if my memory serves me right they were not a force to reckon in this decade of cricket thought they were a force a strong force in the 90s which happens to be the period from 1990-1999 . In the decade of 90s they won literally everywhere but in 2000s i don't remember any match they won outside asia and pls dont considers win in West indies or zimbabwe in 90s all the pakistan team were at the purple phase of their careers and i think they should have won the 1999 cwc which was held in england .. Though pls dont think that i m indian and i m disrespecting pak i never said anything bad about pak so please dont reply to me saying hate remarks to my nation and religion ...

I would further disagree with the idea that South Africa are minnows, they have been made to look like minnows by India and England over the last year but then again those are two exceptionally good cricket teams. There’s a vast difference between being ordinary and being made to look ordinary

South Africa and Pakistan aren't minnows, they might not be world dominators anymore but they're still mid tier teams..above the likes of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. Although England, India, Australia and New Zealand are ahead of those two.
