I have to disagree with Primo Piatto. My family and I have eaten here 3 times, most recently last week. Food has been great each time. Service always great!

Surprised by the comments on Primo Piatto. I've only eaten there twice but great experience both times. I got the chicken sandwich with side salad. It's one of my favorite quick service meals. Everything was really fresh.

Surprised at Riviera. I would have expected this to be one of the best on property. Not loving the hate on SSR :-) SSR is a wonderful resort now with the refurb but I agree, Disney gave up on the restaurants there due to Disney Springs. SSR really needs a great bar and restaurant putting in. I think Turf Club and the little hole in the wall bar is like a 1980’s municipal UK golf clubhouse with gaudy American carpet mix up.

Primo had a great lunch for us when I went. I thought the value and staff were above average for these sort of locations. I would go back.

A few things: 1. I love Pete and would love to meet him for lunch sometime...I'll pay. 2. Has Paul put out a calendar yet? 3. I wish Olivia's was better for my friends that bought DVC there. 4. Thanks to previous reviews, the past time I went to 'Ohana, I told the server flat-out that he was not going to turn this table quickly, that we had been looking forward to this meal for months, and that we were not going to be rushed. I told him that we were carnivores, and that we were going to eat a lot of meat...but don't worry, you're going to get a good tip. That seemed to do the trick.

I have to laugh that one person ate at Primo a single time 18 months ago during opening.... Best quick service IMO at DVC right now with a runner up in Capt Cooks (love those nachos always stop for them every trip).

Surprised no one brought up Mara, lots of generic cafeteria food, pales in comparison to all other food options AK/AKL, and the location is terrible where you basically walk to another resort to get access.

@@sethschroeder I actually love The Mara! Sad to see them get rid of some of their unique African-inspired dishes as a result of the past year but I'm sure they will be back. I definitely want to give Primo another try because I've heard great things, but two bad experiences put it at the bottom of my list, unfortunately.

I'm a "coffee Karen" too 😂 it's always been a challenge to get a good cup of coffee at Disney tha doesn't taste like dish water. So far I go where the pots are offered and I ask to put one extra scoop than normal.

I love Ohana! Can't wait for it to reopen! I hope they don't change it when they do reopen. And as for the service, I think it depends in your family. For us with kids that don't want to be in a restaurant for a long time, I enjoy them bringing the food quickly.

Oh how I wish we had a live chat for this one! Thank you, Pete for standing up for my dear Joffrey’s. I love it and it choose it over Starbucks every time there’s the option. Olivia’s: I said, “WOAH” when he named them, and it was fun to hear the panel all respond too. I loved Primo Piatto the couple times I went. They had a great flatbread with arugula. I agree Saratoga needs some upgraded dining to go with the beautifully refurbished rooms.

I’m not a dvc member, but I love these reviews. The Wave is one of our favorites on every Disney trip.We stayed at the contemporary once a few years ago and contempo cafe was lousy, cafeteria food.

Just got back from a weeks stay at OKW and have to say the food was horrible. Ordered Olivias to go and was not impressed. Their qs Goods To Go took 45 mins for breakfast items. Ordered a muffin, was told it was being made fresh. 20 mins go by and I’m told that it’s being sent from an “outside source” and it will be about 15 mins longer. I said forget it! Will only stay there again if it’s a last resort. Joffrey is way better than Starbucks.

Agree on primo piatto. Meal was subpar and reminded me of bowling alley food. Burger was the equivalent of a hockey puck. The service was also pretty bad. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. I felt like this restaurant was on a separate island from the rest of the riviera. All the other CM at this resort we’re amazing but I think whoever manages this QS could use some pointers.

I've never eaten at Turf Club and I realize that the goal is to get people over to DS. However, I feel they are missing a target by not being open for breakfast and lunch for people who are checking out and waiting for their return to the airport.

They used to be open for lunch but stopped about 6-7yrs ago bc they weren’t getting the traffic…. It’s a nice place but has truly gone downhill

We had our 2nd trip to WDW this past fall. We visited several of the DVC resorts and ate either lunch or Breakfast. Loved Kona though it needed to be remodeled. Service and food was good. We even tried to recreate the wings at home. Some things were hit and miss on our little Resort tour. Nothing was worse than the quick service at Pop. Don’t care it’s a value resort. No excuse for the food served there. Frozen pizza is better. The drinks at the pool were ok though. I am planning on purchasing DVC in the near future through resale. So appreciate all the information and advice.

Our 1st time at Olivia's was not good. We went this February at close to closing time. The staff was wonderful and the food was very good. Pleasantly surprised!

As someone who doesn't like seafood I often find that struggle of trying to find something decent to eat at seafood restaurants. A pleasant surprise was Ale and Compass and the plant based protein bowl. I was there during lent which means I basically eat vegetarian on Fridays. That plant based option at Ale and Compass was delicious. One of my friends liked it better than her seafood dish.

I'm with you Pete on Starbucks. My first, last, only time ever drinking coffee at Starbucks was in the early 2000s in the Chicago airport. It tasted like burnt shoe leather. Everyone told me it was just because it was closing time at the airport and the coffee was sitting there awhile but I doubt that and have never drank there again.

We own at SSR and have never eaten at Turf Club and have no plans on it.. we have eaten at the qs a few times. it isn't terrible.. but it is awkward being mixed with the gift shop..

Folgers makes a liquid coffee concentrate that I believe many restaurants use. Amazon sells it. It can be mixed with hot water at a 32/1 oz. ratio. An historic (80+year) restaurant near my home town was known for the best coffee. Famous people and Presidents have had dinner here. My last visit there I asked the waitress what their coffee was, and I was shocked it was Folgers liquid concentrate. It's always been done that way I guess. Complete shocker.

We like Cape May Cafe. Like you said, if you like seafood then its good! I do agree with the rest, especially 'Ohana's. We were really disappointed - food was meh, we were rushed, and our server was not a happy person ( maybe in a bad mood, overworked, IDK🤷‍♀️) Made us feel like an inconvenience. Sad, because we were really looking forward to our meal there. We haven't gone back since.

Pete try Olivia’s Southernmost Buttermilk Fried Chicken. It is fantastic. Now the quick service there Goods to Go is the worst quick service. Breakfast at GTG is good but cold burgers for lunch or dinner are awful.

I think with ending Magical Express and Dining plans, Disney resorts will lose a lot of customers for dining because it will be easier, and cheaper, esp.with a family, to go off property to eat. 192 has so many restaurants of all kinds that once the Disney magic is broken (Magical Express and Dining plans) what is to keep people on property? I also agree about Saratoga resort. Nothing is convenient and some of the areas are farther away from the Carriage House than other resorts!

At Ohana when they rush you you can say no. I was eating salad and they came at me with the skewers and I said no twice. If everybody firmly insists they slow down because they aren't ready for the next course you will see changes. You've got to be forceful with them. They'll follow your timetable. That being said the food was far better 10 years ago. Now it's closer to good frozen food. Years ago it was fresh and delicious and service was impeccable.

Definitely agree with the Starbucks comment. Burn the beans to disguise the quality. Allows them to provide consistency but at the expense of having real quality.

Vero Beach 🏖 food is not what has been in years past. I hope Disney decides to improve the meal selections and quality. I was at Disney’s Vero Beach last week and was disappointed with the food several times. A menu revamp is needed. I disagree with the negative comments on Olivia‘s. I have had consistently excellent meals there before and after COVID.

We actually like The Turf Club. We like the laid back atmosphere. There are usually 8-10 adults (between us and our kids/partners) and everyone can find something they enjoy. Appetizers are generous. Staff there was very friendly.

We ate at Olivia's twice last month, and while I agree with Pete that the service is absolutely fantastic, I disagree with his take on the food. We had lunch and dinner and both meals were great! Maybe the chef was having a great day both times we were there, but all of us enjoyed our meals!

When I go, I usually get the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken, and it's always amazing. My wife and son get random menu items and their food is absolutely terrible. My wife totally agrees with Pete.

The spicy italian sandwich at Primo is A+ (had it 3 times). Croque Monsieur has been terrific.

I think the views on Vero Beach table service seem out of date (although I saw it wasn’t great when the refurb was first done). Wind and Waves now gets almost all 5 star reviews and the food looks fabulous now, see Dave Kay’s and Michael Kay’s KZbin channels- they went this week and it looks really, really good. I would never have gone had I not seen that, then looked at the latest reviews on Opentable, because it didn’t have a great rep, but I’ll definitely be going August.

One time, I asked a CM behind the counter at Artist's Palette for lactaid milk. I knew other resorts had it so I asked. I was told that they would go it but it would take a few minutes because they keep it at Old Key West. He then told me that for management purposes, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West are the same resort! That may be why they both suck together. Also...ha ha KZbin interrupted the broadcast with a Starbucks commercial! 😂 you got them right though! The only good Starbucks is Fiddler, Fifer and Practical cafe. They must have put some magic in there.

I had the scallops at Olivia’s in August. It was bad. I should of gotten the fried chicken but I had it the night before at Grand Floridian Cafe and it was delish! Ohana’s is horrible. The meat is all fat. We loved Primo Piatto! We check in May 1st for our first Saratoga stay.. guess we are eating at DS

What about the crappy experience(…covered in flies!!!! ) at The Crystal Palace! We’ve given it 2 chances & both times it was awful! Character visits took FOREVER! Restaurant was FULL of flies! Food was definitely not worth it.

I compared Primo Piatto to quick service places in Europe. PP is far superior. Pete's right about Starbucks. Burnt lemons. Joffrey's is great. SSR's Paddock Grill (Pool bar) had great food and service this year. No complaints.

26:51 The exact same "fears" were expressed after 9/11 and the year that followed, didn't really materialize. Disney knows that they are always fighting the perception of "park food" of burgers, pizzas, and nuggets. With that said, there will always be a tier of quick services and table services the same as resorts. Where there's a value, moderate, and deluxe. Some will experience changes, some cuts, and some enhancements. It's all part of the bigger business. Remember too, that many providers to Disney are struggling or thriving. Some things are out of Disney's control while others are their own choices. Remember, there used to be golden arches on property. As he stated, time will tell. But good, high quality, food will always be found on property.

Wow Pete, I could not agree with you more. Starbucks is the worst coffee ever! It taste like burnt soot. There’s nothing favorable about it. I’m also close to Coffee Karen. I like strong Columbia’s coffee that’s smooth. I also love Kona coffee as well. When we travel, I bring my own coffee because the options are are so bad. However, I do remember the Nescafé and it rated right there with Starbucks. 🤮🤮. I love you and your show! 😀

Love Ohana but fiasco is accurate with pushing you out the door. They want to flip tables and I think it’s poor management as they let the servers push instead of provide a great experience. Servers want those tips which are incredibly large based on pricing

I just can't see Disney caring much about bad food and beverage at Saratoga with Disney Springs right there - people opting for DS instead is better for its bottom line, as people are more likely to spend money on #allthethings there, not just a meal.
