That is quite scary, although I’m not hugely worried. Mine is at stage two done by Courtneay and produces 237bhp / 230 lb/ft. I drive it reasonably hard but don’t tend to thrash it to death.

@R FX dont think so i think the blokes tried going big power without forging first but i know a few people that have done stage 2 with this and doing about 240bhp and is still safe atm

It is scary. However, damage like this is unusual, and caused by a chain of events. I'm guessing this engine had been tuned, but not in the best of ways, with some shortcuts made. And when being flogged the life out of, the poor engine simply fell apart. A remap is not of any danger to your engine. The way some people are treating their engines is the risk factor.

@@thefreedomguyuk ah ok, i look after mine, like letting the oil warm up before driving it and let it cool down before switching it off and plus service regularly, so should be ok

My corsa e vxr had a piston 1 failure too, just had a new engine put in two weeks ago. I’ve also got a corsa d vxr which I’ve thrashed the hell out of for five years and it’s been perfectly fine. Not a single problem at all

That's some serious damage! Very keen to see how you get it fixed though, I run an E VXR as my daily, would love to mod it but this sorta stuff puts me off! (The project car eats most of my budget too... car life)

@@mylosingh1651 yeah, ended up getting remapped at RnD Motorsport - running 238bhp, been mapped about a year now & love it! No problems, just remember to let it properly warm up before you boot it, and let it cool off for a couple minutes before turning jt off 👌

Just ordered the Wossner+PEC kit to forge ebuild mine after *P4 has left the chat* due to overheating, the damn clip that hold the lower radiator hose popped out and spilled all the coolant along the highway :D Gotta love pLaStiC eNgiNeEriNg

What was the bhp of this engine before and after . Obviously pushed way beyond the capabilities of the engine . Definitely not worth skipping the forge process to save a buck.

OMG !! That collection of debris ! I've never seen anything like that on a street car. I'm sure the car owner is an elderly lady, who was just driving down to the shops, when the engine for no reason disintegrating 😜

I've got a Corsa d be 1.4t and that's the same engine as the Adam s and tbf they are strong engines never had a problem with mine stage 2 200bhp and had it like that for about 3-4 years abused daily n it's fine aslong as your servicing it often you should be fine non forged btw those engines are capable of 230-240 safe without forging

Holy shit! How did that happen? I would imagine after hitting the block once and causing the first hole the engine would be dead and no more energy to cause further damage?

The crank etc would have still spun & the engine would have still run for afew seconds so the crank spinning would have caused anything in the rods path to expolde it outwards Too much boost

Thought they had sorted the issues in the vxr E by putting bigger injectors in to stop it leaning out. Definitely won't be getting one. 😂

Then put on a fmic and decat and wanted it mapped in but when the stage 2 was added there was a huge misfire on cylinder 2 over 5000rpm on wot ,it has since been put back to the original stage 1 which ran fine for 4 days then the misfire is back any ideas???

So to set the record straight i didn’t send it race it I simply pulled out from a round about put it into second gear and it went bang the car has only done 37,000 miles and at the time the car was not even 4 years old so personally I would get your car forged to stop this happening because there is no time or mileage limit and for Vauxhall they are a waste of time out ov warranty and won’t touch it 🤬🤬🤬

My corsa has exactly 37k and also 4 years old and my heater core started leaking very badly....going to take the car to vauxhall see if i can sort something out as the warranty ran out too and it shouldn't fail after such a sort time...
