I could recall 20 Alonso matches without even having to think very hard about it. Why Chelsea gave him a new contract is as big a mystery to me as is 'what happened to Jimmy Hoffa'. Even when he was playing okay a few years back he still wasn't close to being one of the top left backs in any league (he was actually a left wing back then but it still doesn't matter). I'm usually 100% behind my boys but in his case I just can't. When you give up on the pitch, make stupid errors that cost your side points and bring a shit attitude, it's time to go. You can be sure Frank didn't approve that new contract, I'm sure that happened way before he arrived late last summer. Why Chelsea isn't regularly testing him for 'stupid pills' is beyond me.

Gerrard putting Liverpool down to ten men inside forty seconds vs United is the obvious one, but I'd argue some players' performances for Liverpool have been WORSE than being down to ten men. Some that come to mind are Skrtel vs Southampton 2016 (when he came on at 2-0 Liverpool and managed to lose 3-2), Benteke vs West Ham in the FA Cup the same year (had about four 1v1s with the keeper and missed the lot, and West Ham eventually won the match) or either of Moreno in the Europa League final or Karius in the Champions League Final 2018.
