@electricalgear15195 жыл бұрын
Terry Beardmore Well, it isn’t one of the most well known NES games, either. I’d say it’s fairly obscure, which would probably explain why the designers for the Venturer thought they could get away with copying a few of the bonus games from it and passing it off as original content. Guess I answered my own question.
@medes55975 жыл бұрын
@@electricalgear1519 yeah it's probably more obscure than I think. Holy crap I actually know that game Bingo Zap is based off! It’s actually a wooden box, with walls so the ball can’t fall out, and a roof so you can’t see the ball, and the idea is to use these dials on the sides which tilts the flat board surface the marble is on, trying to make the ball fall though the hole. I have a similar version in my room with me, but this one is a maze, and has maze map painted on the lid so you can tell where to move the ball. I think the idea is to place the box on your lap, so you can feel the ball (which is designed to be very heavy, it’s not even that big but it’s made out of like lead or something, so you can actually feel the weight) moving, but I quite like the put it down on the desk and just work out where the ball based off sound and the angle of tilt. I’m pretty certain it’s a pretty ancient concept. I definitely played one like Bingo Zap, but that was a long, long time ago. The one I have is probably around 50 years old, it used to be my Dad’s, then I inherited it, but before he got it it was from my grandfather, which makes it somewhere between 30-70 years old. I wouldn’t be surprised if my grandad inherited it from someone even older then him though.

32:00 I feel bad because I've totally made little programs with controls that bad. The issue is the velocity you're giving the frying pan whenever the player presses a button isn't decrementing nearly fast enough to zero out movement. If the velocity decreases by itself at all. It might even just flip the velocity when you press left or right, seeing how fast it bounces off the walls.

the last game you had to dodge the turds, but you didn’t dodge the real piece of sh!t when you bought the system.

Excel Racing is a clone of Rally-X, a 1980 Namco arcade cabinet. In Rally-X, the main car is blue, the flags are yellow, the timer is a fuel gauge, the main weapon is a smokescreen, and the enemies are red, but otherwise it is a complete and utter knockoff of that title. They appear to play identically. Also 30:41 oh my god it's literally a game where you watch grass grow

It looks fun honestly, I think if I buy this system that's the first game I'll go for.

You could play the VR racing game using the Oculus Quest's video theatre mode thing. I saw people playing Switch games with that.

That story Shane made up for dragon fire actually sounds like a pretty rad idea for an rpg.

Rerez: =tells the story of Dragon Fire= Me: WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN!! Honestly, it's actually a good plot for a simple RPG...

I can’t believe how broken and insane these games are. It’s like the programmed we’re *trying* to make a meme-centric console. Every time I thought it couldn’t get more stupid... it did. And it’s not just the excellent jokes you’re adding, the games themselves are almost Dada!

I think they honestly forgot about stack overflows or just didnt care. Basically since programs run in a loop it can cause the memory to be overloaded with variables unless after 5 or so loops you write a command to clear the memory area.

This is such a nostalgia trip. I had one of these that I would play on a little portable dvd player and I think most if not all of these games were on it. As a kid it was pretty fun but rewatching the gameplay, it's just bad...

I actually remember playing this. My grandparents got a portable dvd player that included this controller, and I played this with my brother and cousins to and from florida

Considering the build quality of the controller, I wonder if there is a way/someone made a mod to essentially turn this into a controller for the Genesis or the SNES

The way you voiced the "intro" for the Ultra Doggy game; almost makes me want to play it. Then again, seeing the actual gameplay of it made me not want to. You did the game too much justice. lol

You just threw me into a world I wanted to forget. I had one of these, lost it, and Ive never been able to learn what this actually was. And worst of all, I enjoyed it. ...and then I got a real console and realized my childhood gaming years were a lie
