Maybe nozzle got lose a bit and didnt seal anymore? whats your thought ?
@M1America
@M1America 2 жыл бұрын
That was my thought. Thats why tightening them while they are hot is important.

well.. I cleaned everything.. and to my surprise.. the nozle was still there ultra tight. so im very lost on what happened. Maybe the part got stuck on the nozzle and it kept extruding to create that worm? I dont know. But nozzle was very well torqued on it still.... very weird one

@@M1America yes thats basic stuff. :) and thats how everyone should do it.

Perhaps the print got loose while it was still small and got stuck underneath the nozzle, plastic would flow on the sides forming a "blob" which would increase in length with every layer?

@@Vez3D sounds about right. I had something similar happen to me a while back, but that worm got about 3mm thick and maybe 5-8mm long before it broke off the nozzle

back in busyness again !! thanks to SliceEngineering repealant stuff.. it was in fact very easy to clean. took about 5 min. Heated a bit above glass transition point (120C) and everything came off easy :)

@Joe Schmoe no it was tight still. So it must be that printed parts stuck to the nozzle and this happened

I had a horrific one where the print failed and knocked my inductive probe off its mount and the nozzle hit the wires - melting through the insulation and shorting them. Had to replace multiple electrical components after that one and actually switched to the Euclid probe

My best guess (and also my Bet) is that it was trying to transform into Venom 🤷🏼‍♂️

Looking at the build plate it seems that either the first layer never stuck or it was ripped up by some extra glob on the nozzle or something. My thought is that oil of some kind became introduced to the system either through the filament path or just deposited on the build plate from the air. Were you cooking with oil at the time?

I've been toying with those bed blasters (RSCS), and i was wondering, how do you control them? i ended up now manually turning them on after first layer is done. I'm sure there is a more efficient way to do this.
@Vez3D
@Vez3D 2 жыл бұрын
For now slicers dont have options for multiple fans :( so I manually do this too. But i just manually add a line in gcodes after 1st layer.

Looks to me like the nozzle came out while it was printing near the bed, and it kept trying to print. It formed the giant turd-log you see, but your cooling is higher from the rear of the hotend, so the rear of the log cooled first, causing differential firming, which made it curl rearward slowly as the filament was fed into the giant lump and became one with it. From there, the "rear" fan was cooling the log's underside.

But look at that layer adhesion lol, I had a similar thing happen with some cfpetg with long strands of fibre where a small amount of ooze was hitting the print as the nozzle moved to a spot on the print which would happen every layer causing the print to slowly be peeled from the bed

It happens even in the best families unfortunately, it could have been a problem in the filament, an unsolved lump in the filament that blocked the nozzle and the melted plastic and escaped from where it could.
