Actually, this hotel is housed at MTC building which the government already planned to dismantle it and build a new Shopping Complex it its place. May be the fellow just want to tarnish the image of Shillong. Or he might be fooled by someone who takes money from him and make him to film that video. Public don't be fooled, but please find out the truth, and the truth is Elgin hotel is housed at MTC building Police Bazar which is to dismantle and all offices in that building like MRB Regional Office and MTC Offices already are shifted. So, it might be the othority and management of Elgin hotel already abandoned it as well.

I am from the state of Kerala. It was horrible to watch this video. I stayed in this hotel for 5 days in November 2019. My room was in the floor of reception. Rooms were good, staff service also nice then. So i don't know what happened to this hotel. Actually unbelievable for me.

Yes don't stay in this hotel we stay there for one day when we come to Shillong for College necessities the manger is bad manner worst worst manager and the room which we have stayed Cost for one day is Rs,1200 in 2018 and there are lots of bed bugs in that room just imagine how we manage that night we cannot sleep whole night that's is why we have change another room by paid another cost which room also not hygienic not good condition. It appears that this post is not based on facts. I have been staying in this Elgin hotel from 3 May'22 and still present here. This accomodation facilities & hotel manager & staffs are very good & responsible. And you get every facilities here & ground floor of this hotel is central government railway inquiry office & meghalaya transport office. And this is very secure & good atmosphere.I am fully satisfied and recommend this hotel for comfortable stay at economical rates.

I'm backpacker.. I have alot experience with low budget dorms.. Hotel.. Motel.. Lodge. Etc.... So many beautiful experience... But this one is worst... U should learn about hospitality

This kind of things is very common in a country like ours ( one in every 10 hotels) what if I go to this guy's place and looks for the places like he did and uploaded it to see for everyone..?? i bet i'd find one too..!!? As if this smarty pant just pop out of heaven...! you should let the owner see it instead of humiliating it and ofcourse Shillong city ...give respect and take respect my friend.
