The Mihawk and Shanks exchange is one of the best things about the entire live action IMO. I think that stems from us actually knowing more about them. Cause when Mihawk mentions Shanks's position as a Yonko when he says "A man of your stature", Shanks immediately follows up by mocking Mihawk's position by calling him "A mighty warlord of the sea" 😂. They rivalry was captured perfectly.

Hachi is better of not being here, he was such a good guy, I bet the backstory will be "I got tired of Arlongs crazyness so I left the crew with Momoo" imagine that:D It also would have pushed Zoros wounds too far in this quick pacing time-frame of the OPLA, no time to recover, so it worked well in the end I think. Plus they barely had enough time as it is :p

I am fine with them removing hachi fight because its a short fight,but Hachi as a character can be adopted to the backstory or somewhere in the story if they reach sabaody.Atleast they have kuroobi because he has 2nd highest bounty in arlong crew and his fight with sanji is the 2nd best fight after luffy and arlong.Its a shame though they didn't fight underwater like in the manga but atleast they keep sanji comboing kuroobi.

I‘ve never seen much of the Anime but i really liked the live action version. Since it came out i watched so many reactions but yours were just the best for me. Especially the short explanations helped me with stuff i don‘t know about. Keep it up :)

I'm absolutely floored by how well and loving this was to the story, yeah some things have been changed but the VAST majority of it is One Piece all the way and it's not only me thinking it's weird to say "I want a season 2 of a Netflix Live Action Anime" right? Because after this I have faith they'll do the right thing and keep adapting the source material correctly, but damn if it doesn't feel weird saying that.

I'm okay with the decisions they've made this season. I mean Hachi was not so important in Arlong Park as he will in Sabaody and Fishman island. And I will be okay if they keep the same actress for Alvida. It'd be cool if she lost some weight for the future but what's more important - she was so good as Alvida that it's better to keep her for the role than hire someone else just for the slim body.

I give this OP live action a 8/10 rating. It's my honest opinion that some things i didn't like but still, i enjoy it It might not be a perfect live action adaptation but still, it's a success because on how trending it was There is gonna be improvement for sure, in the future when we get the season 2. The script is already written for season 2 but they need to film. After the strikes that is been going on Season 2 is gonna be amazing and interesting. New casting for new characters especially for Alabasta

Not many know i guess. But Hatchi was actually in the live action too if you watch back the end credit and the cast you can find his name. He was that fishman with those lines on his face or how should i describe it so yeah they canged hatchi from octopus to fish looking fishmen like the others. And yeah the whole Arlong park fight was so good. And the Luffy vs Garp (Garp testing Luffy) was good surprise too. Mihawk meting with Shanks and his crew was so good too. And the scene with the straw hats in the end talking about their goals/dreams was so wholesome too just like in the manga/anime. And they even puted Smoker in the end omg... bro.. i am so happy and glad with the live action they rly nailed it ! For me it was a 9/10. And can't wait for season 2!

Just like how Kuro escaped Syrup Village and might return with Jango in tow (they never explained how Axe Hand Morgan captured him but he's a butler elsewhere), I think its definitely possible for the Arlong Pirates to have a little epilogue as they disband, and from there we see Hachi.

Making a fight with Hachi a guy with 6 arms would've taken a huge chunk (for a short scene even) out of the budget & to do it without it looking cheesy & ridiculous. Also i don't think we have seen a multi-limbed character in a live action scene in film/TV done without it looking very bad, correct me if i'm wrong.

A solid 1st season and off to a great started. Given theyll probably keep the 8 episode format im pretty sure they probably be leading to alabasta as thefinale for season 2 and introduce ace, vivi, chopper and robin not to mention baroque works, smoker maybe tashigi and who knows maybe well have dragon show up in loguetown. Though given the budget and format netflix usually does and considering the amiunt if sfx and cgi down the line and if we do get more seasons in my opinion a safe bet is they adapt everything leading into marineford finale then end with a scene implying the 2 year time skip.

so, now i'd like to mention some thoughts i have been thinking since i finished this season last week. while YEAH it is sad they didn't do Hachi in this season or the dancing lion. i think it IS something to keep in mind that all the stuff that happens here in one piece up to THIS VERY POINT is and was all tame normal Pirate stuff (the type you hear in folklore and fantasies and whatnot.) but with where we go later on in the story, we got a whole walking duck with us alongside Vivi, a booger nose bomb guy, a woman who's weight is more than she looks, CATACLYSMIC NUKES ON A SHIP, a walking talking Reindeer doctor WHO IS GOING TO STAY WITH US FOREVER, GIANTS, MASSIVE INSECTS AND PLANTS AND AMOPHIBIANS AND ALL THAT STUFF. what I'm trying to say here is, EVERYTHING IN EAST BLUE IS NORMAL by regular show standards. one piece is going to need A MUCH MORE BIGGER BUDGET to keep this stuff going even more! especially seeing Skypiea is after Alabasta BUT we need to see how alabasta does first before even THINKING of a Season 3. but the big Reindeer i wanna bring in to the room is Not Robin (who i look so much forward to because she's gonna be played by a Russian woman who I AM SO CURIOUS AS TO WHO IT'LL BE AND HOW SHE'LL TURN OUT =D) but Tony Tony Chopper. the walking, talking, human shapeshifting Reindeer who is either Obviously going to be CGI or they'll find.....SOME KIND OF WAY to make him work...idk..maybe an animatronic? maybe a suit with a small person inside? i have no clue. CHOPPER IS THE ONE I AM VERY HIGHLY CURIOUS AS TO HOW HE'LL WORK IN LIVE ACTION. Hachi will probably come in during Sabaody, or who know maybe even earlier than that. i mean. LOOK AT ALL THE THINGS THAT HAPPENED SOONER THAN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO?! for me i....I JUST WANT MORE!! I WANT MORE OF THIS AMAZING ADAPTATION JUST....GOD I LOVE IT!!! I feel like at this moment, nothing is lost with Hachi not being there to fight Zoro. In fact, I wouldn't mind if he's just in a flashback or brought up by Nami later. With how close this was to the Sabaody arc. I think if they do decide to make him someone who rebuked their alliance to Arlong a bit earlier it will fit the story just as well.

Yeah not including Hachi is kinda disappointing. I have idea how they can do it without CGI but it's going to be super complex. My idea is to hire big actor, bulky body builder who can carry two children on his back. Then maybe put oversized clothing to cover them up. Maybe even fill up styrofoam to make Hachi looks really big to give some spaces for the two children who will act as additional hands. Put some styrofoam on the kids hands too for fake muscle effect. It would requires complex choreography as well and patience with the children because it will be exhausting and hot wearing costume.... Or you can also build a metal exoskeleton to support the actor and the children.
