One thing I have discovered in my different attempts to get this achievement (Yes, I did it more than once on different platforms). Always have the Uzi guns and Shotguns available for passing around. Survivors have infinite ammo with them, and the ones who take them do a decent job of crowd control. And queens are your life source, being able to clear our a large group who are harassing your survivors is invaluable. But for me, the most frustrating part was after you kill Jo and rescue a bunch of survivors, I usually kept Ronald at the end since he had the longest time. After that you gotta kill the Hall family to get Wayne to follow you. But the time constraint you have at this point is extremely tight, and worse still, you gotta bring food to Ronald's ungrateful ass or he removes himself and 6 others from your recue pool. If there is any survivor I let die in any saint run, it's that fat bastard. Hell, more than once I murdered him, myself.

I feel as though you are one of the few KZbinrs who still covers Dead Rising to any mild capacity at this point. I don’t have much time with the franchise myself, but seeing it go from being one of the most popular sandbox games to being basically forgotten is just a prime example on how the passage of time isn’t kind to a lot of games.

I got every achievement back in the day besides the 2 that required you to leave your 360 on for 12-14 hours. With the whole RROD issues and the inability to save in the middle I wasn't willing to risk it. But even back then I was too objective focused to care about the premise. While the concept of being able to use almost anything in the mall as a weapon is cool, in execution you're almost always going to want the most powerful stuff to progress. And the crappy AI is just a kick in the balls to any desire to come back to it in the modern day.

I'd like to give an dishonorable mention to a DLC Paralogue from FE:Three Houses, where you had to protect a duke from a smattering of enemies and beasts, and it is just balls-to-the-wall difficult. Doesn't help that the duke has no sense of self-preservation once he reaches your units, therefore turning it into a turn-based escort mission from hell. Added bonus points if you play it on Classic.

Dead rising is so important to my heart. It really is a special game, even with all it's fault I can't help but play it once in a while. I never do that ! Even for the sequels.

As someone who played the second game first, the nerf to survivors in Off the Record tried my patience. I can't bear myself to bother playing the first game when people say it's far worse in that department despite how important it is for the franchise plot.

So a bit of a random suggestion but could you cover Digimon Dawn/Dusk (Nintendo DS) and it’s area “Loop Swamp” for a worst level ever video? Dawn and Dusk already have a very labyrinth-like design to their areas with an ABYSMALLY frequent encounter rate, but Loop Swamp in particular is just absolutely horrendous. It’s so easy to get lost because of the maps mind-breakingly bad design, and because random encounters are so frequent and usually pretty long it’s VERY easy to forget which way you were even heading by the time a battle ends. The cherry on top? The game has ZERO WAYS to lower encounters. So you have to go through this SLOG of an area no matter what. It’s a shame because if there was some way to lower the encounter rate Dawn and Dusk would be really excellent DS RPGs. But the encounter rate is SO BAD and the overworld design is SO CONFUSING it completely ruins the entire experience.

Yeesh i know Dead Rising survivor ai was bad but not THAT bad. Thankfully DR 2 really improved on it. for off the record folks say it was dumbed down a lil (i need to compare the two games).That and OTR didn't have that one achievement for rescuing all survivors.

Escort missions have always been a frustrating chore because of how the one(s) you are supposed to keep escort don't properly follow you (I swear almost every escort has the escortee get left far behind due to stupid AI at least once), and it's very easy for them to get stuck between enemies while there's clearly an escape route they just have to squeeze through. Oh, and you have to constantly stop and wait cuz you gotta wait for your escortee while they drag their ass to reach yours so slowly it's like we have a whole *century* of time. The survivors in this game are a prime example of why escort missions frustrate gamers. The only escort missions I like are the ones where we get to lift/carry the escortee with us, it just makes things much less frustrating.

Well, that's one reason Ashley from RE4 mostly works. When she's in follow mode she'll always be right behind you, she'll duck if you point a gun in her direction so she won't get hit by crossfire or stupidly run right in front of your bullets, and in certain places you can have her hide while you take care of the enemies.

It took me YEARS to get the saint achievement. Through 4 playthoughs, countless cursing, 1 broken controller, blood, sweat and tears, i got it. Its one of my best achievements and i now NEVER want to play DR1 ever again. Now if you ask me to do the 7 day survivor achievement, i will spit on you for like, a minute straight. Its just too soon for me...

I got a challenge for you. Level 1-50 Saint playthough. No achievement items either, got to be a blank save. I have done it, so I know it is possible, but having to fight the bosses with the abilities of an underlevelled Frank, alongside the other subtle weaknesses (no speed boost or item boost) will have you needing to play more frugally. I know it can be done, I enjoyed it myself, but it did require a a few reloads; most on this exact part your commenting on!

Despite i really liked Dead Rising, i can't deny that the game had its flaws . And the bad A.I. is the biggest culprit. I personally hate when people say is a perfect game, because not only nothing in life is perfect , but also that is a heavy overstatement of something and the example that invalidate it here is the bad A.I. of the survivors. If it wasn't by the fact that one of the main mechanics in Dead Rising is escorting survivors and that is one the best methods of getting EXP in the game, then it wouldn't be that much of an issue. Everything else in the game is awesome,like the atmosphere and the whole investigation that Frank must do to find the truth, but the A.I. can turn every player down.The survivors react worse the more they are and i don't think they test it enough, because they have a lot of issues when trying to go to the saferoom due being a narrow place. I really loved the og Dead Rising, back in the day i was hoping to play it , but i didn't have 360. However since now the game has been released for more platforms, i was able to play it on pc and PS4.
