Worst morris dance ever!

I used to do this when I was a little girl, and we didn't call it Morris Dancing, it was an Entertainment troupe. Took part in competitions all over England. I was the mascot, I was 5 years old. The leader was absolutely wonderful and coming onto a big field in a perfect line with the leader at the front and me just slightly behind her was a sensation I'll never forget and I am now 72 years old! We didn't just do this though we did what we called "Tableau" where I, as the littlest, usually ended up standing on someone's shoulders. I loved it!

Their diagonals are amazing tbh... everyone has their mistakes and faults Morris dancing is NOT easy and I’m only 14 and have been doing it since I was 4 so for 10 years💓

honestly i have just joined back after 5 years and i remember 1 time my shoelace came undone whilst at comp and i was dancing, but i just let it be and carried on (i also got a medal for still going) x

i’m a junior leader and in seniors this is a really good dance and dancing without a leader is really hard so good on them they did so well

the reason people say its bad is because either they dont have a leader or the leaders not doing spacings in the middle so there to spread out

The girl who come off just lost it and had sheer overwhelm. Dancing takes nerves of steel. Not sure why they didn't close that gap up at the end

I do Morris dancing and they are good just the spacing at the end where it looks like someone is missing when they are marching at the end so DONT JUDGE THEM!!

It was a fair dance! A little fast I think for others to keep up with! Does help if you've got music that you like and can dance to which makes the dance more enjoyable to go out to! yes there are some minor things that needs looking at but overall they did good! Well done girls.

This was still a really good dance! You can't always win. Things like this happen all the time and sometimes you just get a little too overwhelmed and start to panic. So I don't think you should be judging this team when clearly they are good. They just messed up a little which is fine but good job girls 😊

I had no idea cheerleaders did a modification of traditional Morris dancing. I lead a traditional Celtic folk dance troupe, so I am accustomed to a very different version of dance, but I see the Morris dance roots coming through in this style, and I can appreciate how it has been adapted in the 21st c. Also, these dancers look phenomenal. Whoever called this the worst is definitely exaggerating.

Not exactly a modification of traditional morris dancing, this kind of morris is just as traditional as the more well known types and has been going since at least the 1800s (they are the earliest known records I think) & has very strong links with the more well known northwest morris (the kind done in clogs and holding ribboned sticks). It is called Carnival Morris as it was originally danced at carnivals only, but is now mostly danced at competition level in sports halls. It is probably where cheerleading originates.

Good Lord, you haven't seen nothing! I have seen many, many morris performances much worse than this, and from men's teams that despise this form as 'not proper morris' at that. They were flustered by the girl being taken ill or hurting herself and by the empty place she left, that's all.

I've done troupe my whole life and we've never used those Pom Pom things, this is definitely Morris dancing.
