This child Leia is the most dislikeable little asshole I've ever seen. What an utterly ridiculous take on a beloved character. Completely unrealistic and exaggerated, with awful humour shoehorned in. The scene of the kidnappers "chasing" her is actually the worst thing I've ever seen. They are running at walking speed.

Strangely, just hearing you talk about Luke makes me want to watch the original trilogy again. If there is anything positive at all that came out of the show it's that. In another hundred years the original trilogy will still be the only Star wars worth talking about ...of course by then the only place you'll be able to find it is on DVD.

I actually think it's common with these shows. I did it with Doctor Show and Wheel of Time, others did it with Halo. You go back to the original work to cleanse your palette and watch something of quality again. Works a treat.

(Assuming, of course, they didn't find some new way to f*ck it up somehow.) * There were actually several versions of Star Wars with minor variations pre-Special Edition. Ideally, all of those versions could be included but any of them would be acceptable.

To be honest I've been like that with quite a few things recently. All the roasting that Cowboy Bebop received from KZbinrs prompted me to get the original anime. All the negativity towards the Rings of Power series made me finally buy The Hobbit and Lord of the Rigs novels. I remember after suffering through Falvon and the Winter Soldier I decided to watch the 70s and 90s Captain America movies. Oh and the recent stuff with Reed Richard's made me get the 90s Fantastic Four movie on bluray. The crap they're churning out really does help you realise how good the originals are.

Disney are creating a show with no story to tell. Revenge of the Sith ended with Kenobi on Tatooine determined to protect Luke, this show will end with Kenobi on Tatooine determined to protect Luke. What’s the journey, most of Kenobi’s arc occurred offscreen and his arc for the show will just be him returning to his normal self. Disney are just digging up corpses of old characters and parading them around for shock value

The Legends novel Kenobi did this right. It's about Kenobi dealing with his PTSD and a small plot involving a moisture farmer and his family terrorizing people by pretending to be tuskins. And it took place only 1 year after ROTS, not 10, when such a story would make sense. Was it necessary? No. Was it a decent and emotional story about moving on from traumatic events and second chances? Yes.

No one wants to watch a PTSD Jedi moping around and depressed for events that happened years ago, who won't help others Jedi and allow them to get killed yet get guilt tripped into leaving his assignment of watching over Luke to go find Leia whose responsibility is NOT on Obi-Wan but on Senator Organa. This a manufacturered storyline to have Obi-Wan and Leia have some sort of personal relationship because Luke and Obi-Wan had one in the originals. General Grievous lost and Darth Maul, even lore wise, is able to kill inquisitors. It's not an issue of her being a woman. If Obi Wan is to lose, the person better be someone very high up the food chain. She is not and there has been no indication of her being that powerful. If she was, she would be taking orders directly from Vader and answer to no one else

I just want to point out that Disparu is incorrect from 9:45 to 10:42. I'm guessing he forgot that Obi-Wan needs to keep a low profile. He cannot be raising attention to himself because remember: he is a Jedi, and Jedi are effectively public enemy number 1. Being a Jedi does not "pay well" because he's hiding. On top of this, he's supposed to be watching over Luke. It's literally a binary choice between A: take the half pay or B: risk exposing that he is a Jedi. Did Disparu forget this is after Order 66 and before ANH?

This has been middle school level story writing. I was able to look past some of the flaws in the hopes they will recuperate from them later. (just like when i watched Star Wars episode 7). But this show's part 3 destroyed all hope. How did modern tv and movie writing get so bad? Who is letting them into the industry with such poor education. Dear Disparu, The Jedi didn't make money, Obi-Wan is essentially a homeless person. The Jedi Order received donations, and was funded by the Republic, but the Jedi disregarded attachments, including material things like money. Even if Obi-Wan was paid as a jedi, republic credits would be worthless on (Forgive my spelling), Tattooeen.

I am actually impressed you could be bored by the show. I was so angry watching every episode because it either: Didn't made sense just in the series alone. So many logical errors, teleporting. Didn't made sense in the storyline/lore of Star Wars. Literally writing issues into the story of the prequels/sequel storyline. Destroyed established characters. There are so many issues with Kenobi, Vader/Anakin, Organa and even Leia. There are alot of things in the show characters know or do that they can only know if they know the story and every detail of characters in the prequels where no one was around to see them. Or know things for some reason that would actually put you on the "kill at once" list of Vader and Palpatine, but for some reason it's totally fine. While I agree that there are boring parts of the show, if it isn't actually terrible (although sometimes it manages to do both at the same time), I was rather busy being actually angry at it. Boba Fett already destroyed the character of the title character that also wasn't really the main character in his own show. This one hurts more though, because Kenobi is an even bigger character, that is more important to most Star Wars fans. The really sad part is that I only consider myself as a slightly above casual Star Wars fan, and even I see all those issues in both Boba and Kenobi. Which only proves the one point that Disney/Lucasfilm really does not care about the fandome, established lore, story and characters written by the mind of George Lucas. What a dumb decision to not use the franchise to actually make tons of money. The MCU already would be able to do tons of money, as would studios like Pixar if they didn't ruin alot of the stuff they put out, but Star Wars? I'd say this is one of the biggest franchises in movie history, the amount of money you could make with it if your stuff is decent to good is incredible. But no, they rather destroy it for their agendas. Idiots, all of them.

The thing is, A New Hope is so vastly different and all the lines are the sort of lines that meant something totally different in 1977, so trying to make shows that connect the dots is pointless. I mean, they're trying to sell the tension of the Inquisitors finding them, but all that needs to happen is for one villager to say "I don't know any Obi Wan, but there's a Ben KENOBI who lives out beyond the Dune Sea where Luke SKYWALKER lives. Yeah, one reason the original SW was timeless is that they didn't shove in 1970s things, which was trendy to do in films at the time. Like the music- most films were using "modern" popular music; having a full orchestral score was unusual. Plus, when they were influenced by politics, they worked it in seamlessly. There were many political issues that were the same then as they are today...except they were actually new then, rather than as we have now, with people pretending that the last 50 years didn't happen.

You missed the part where Jimmy Smitz' character is a founding member of the Rebel Alliance and is in communication with Ahsoka Tano. And this is Disney Canon too. They seem to have forgotten that. So Obi Wan is not the only Jedi. The whole storyline is stupid. Leaving Luke who has one protector (Obi Wan) to chase after and rescue Leia when a whole planet, the Rebel Alliance, Starkiller (if Canon), Ahsoka who Organa has in contact, or the even Esra and friends. Nope. Make Obi Wan leave his ward to chase after Leia. This plot might of worked with the Ahsoka series but for an Obi Wan, it is stupid and shows Disney writers are morons and don't know their own lore.

Bail should not even get Obi-Wan or any Jedi he knew to rescue Leia, ever. Consider this, the daughter of an Imperial Senator was kidnapped. That's a big deal, and it stands to reason that he would send the army or contract out bounty hunters to get Leia back. There's nothing suspicious about that. Having Kenobi rescue her becomes self-incriminating. Why would a wanted man suddenly risk everything to rescue her? How does he know she was kidnapped within days of the incident, presumably such news hasn't even leaked out of the palace? How does Kenobi intend to return Leia if it was some random rescue? These questions aren't that hard to think of, and the answers further implicate the Organas with traitorous Jedi. This is different from the beginning of A New Hope. Leia was caught by Imperials on a ship last spotted in the theft of the Death Star plans. But in this child kidnapping attempt, the Imperials could happily offer assistance, especially since the kidnapping was never sanctioned.
