Every year jo Anne's fabric and crafts partners with duct tape in a contest. If you make your prom outfits from duct tape and send it in, and you win, you and your date get a year's free scholarship to college. So all the duct tape ones were likely from that. As for the Star Wars one, a lot of proms have themes. People dress accordingly.

Prom is supposed to be fun. The outfits were fun and unique. Everyone doesn’t want to be cookie cutter.

Our proms were so awesome . I went to Catholic school there were strict dress codes. We weren’t going around with our boobs,crotches,asses etc, hanging out. We wore formal gowns & we looked like old money !
