You know what Robert? You’re so right about the beauty therapy thing. I have a diploma in beauty therapy myself and the makeup course that’s inside it…it made me shocked. First off, it wasn’t taught by a makeup artist. It was taught by our spa teacher. Second of all, we weren’t taught any theory at all. None. It was a case of, use whatever is in the cheap makeup kit we’ve given you and off you go. AND THEY TOLD US WE COULD DO BRIDAL MAKEUP AND CHARGE FOR IT AFTER THE CLASS WAS FINISHED!!!!! It was a 10 session unit/course. Not even kidding. I was embarrassed by what myself and my classmates came up with, but given we were taught by a spa teacher, no surprises there. Most of us ended up paying an extra $1000 just to be taught by makeup artists from an Aussie brand called Napoleon Perdis. They came to the college and spent time with us actually teaching theory. A beauty therapy trained makeup artist is not a makeup artist. Not even close.
@fallensway8552 жыл бұрын
😂 a million percent yes! But how on earth did you get 10 modules on makeup? I had a half day were we learnt *NOTHING*, we were given a single printout showing a basic drawing of a ladies face with like an oblong shape at the cheeks that said *BLUSH* diff shapes on the eye lids *EYESHADOW 1, 2, 3*. Absolutely no nuances. Teacher gave us zero info on colour theory or colour correcting. To pass all we did was the face of 1 class mate and were told “great you know everything you need to go and do bridal makeup” gag. I was honestly so miffed the “makeup module” cost nearly $600 and we couldn’t skip it or we would fail the whole certification.

Wow, what Robert says is so true. I'm 37 years of age now and a qualified "beauty therapist" I went in wanting to learn about just makeup but back then it wasn't a thing. I had to learn facials, waxing, plucking, tinting, massage, nails etc.....makeup was literally a minimal bit. You couldn't pick and choose this either here in the UK back then unfortunately...hopefully things are different now. If I had known this was included in the course, then I wouldn't have enrolled...it is what it is. I'm glad Rob is letting people know this. Yes, I did beauty therapy, and people always comment on how well I do my makeup. It doesn't mean I, myself, or others with the same course will do yours just as good. I prefer to be honest.

I don't wear makeup, nor am I able to put it on others. I don't own any makeup whatsoever. I just enjoy watching Robert so much because he's the only KZbinr that knows how to act like an adult and treats other people with respect. It's always constructive criticism with the intent to educate others. No "spilling T" or drama, none of that ignorant childish junk, just an actual professional makeup artist that's here to educate and teach, who also happens to be the only KZbinr that acts like an adult and is a true gentleman. It's just so beyond tragic that traits like his, which is just being a decent person who acts their age, are so rare these days in anyone on KZbin that I'm over here subscribing when makeup has nothing to do with my life lol. Love your channel, thanks for providing my daily dose of being able to watch someone act like a rational person lol sadly it's something I never see anyone in my life doing ever.

I have a suppressed immune system and I must be a bit germaphobic, and I am feeling SO anxious watching this MUA use dirty tools!!! I made it through the video because of you, Robert.🖤 She looks like the victim in a 90's murder movie!!😳
