Nice to see you enjoying some of what I get to experience everyday. It’s beautiful country there where I live and 1000’s of mile of trails and history all throughout the area. Even as many years as I have ventured out exploring so much of it, still haven’t seen it all. So very happy to see you enjoying such a small part of this on your journey. Cheers!

I grew up going to the rim. Explored so many roads along there, based on timing of your video I was up there within weeks of you - same roads. The first closed road you hit, I missed the sign until I came out other side. Couple of incredible spots just over that first hill. On the rough trail, it does suck! if you hit the turn off towards black canyon lake though, it is a gorgeous drive through the canyon and saves you a good amount of miles on that road dropping you on the other side. Loved seeing familiar camp sites in your video that I've mapped and even stayed at!

Absolutely beautiful! Your pups don't know how lucky they are to have you as their dad. Pro4xexpeditions, I believe is correct about the pronunciation. I would have spelled it phonetically as "muggy on" or "muggy un" but that's because I live at an elevation above 6,000 ft and persistent oxygen starvation can do funny things. At least, that's what my wife tells me. Life is good at altitude! :))

I was just up there on the Rim on Wednesday night. Camped at a spot that wasn't too far from where you were (a spot I located from an older @venture4wd video) and then did the whole rim road on Thursday heading east. Loved just about every second of it, though the road quality changed a bit crossing from Coconino NF to Apache Sitgreaves NF with lots of washboard. Definitely want to go up there again and do some more exploring. Tried to do a back way trail to Knoll Lake and there wasn't actually any views of the lake which was disappointing. 😄

Hi Matt! So good to see you explore my home State! All of it is familiar to me so I feel like I'm actually with you. Pretty cool... and not creepy at all... LOL! Bugs that bit you: I'll lay odds on "NoSeeums" Hahaha! Look them up! They are a thing. They are in my opinion worse than mosquito bites... Arizona is Full of Things that bite, poke, sting... and as others have pointed out, hard to pronounce! I got in the habit of carrying Apples and carrots with me when I'm going to be in certain areas with Burros and Horses, but it looks like you are done with Arizona, so... yeah... A little late on that... See you next time! Bill

Been driving FR300 for about 28 years now and recognized everywhere you went. Lots of amazing views of God's creation along the way with the dramatic 2,500' elevation dropoffs below, looking out over more pine trees than you can count. You stopped at General Springs Cabin, hope you also saw the Battle of Big Dry Wash Monument and took time to visit Knoll Lake. The Altar campfire pit was built up with rocks to block the winds coming in from the rim. You'll find other campfire rings on the rim built the same way. And, you're correct, the Coconino portion has a lot more to offer than the Sitgreaves portion. But, it's there for everyone to decide for themselves. Others have already mentioned pronunciatiation - it's "Mug-E-On" and not "Mog-E-On". Anyway, hope you enjoyed Arizona, and if you need anything when you come back, I'm in Phoenix and close by. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
