I have visited Tura and other part of Meghalaya . People there are very wonderful people and kind. And looks like the people you tangle there are not from Tura or tribals . Please rectify your comment on the particular " first impression of Tura". And Tura and rest of the Meghalaya people , one suggestion "React it now" or it will be too late and will soon be next Tripura and Assam. You just met the wrong people at the wrong time and you assumed that all are like that..Please do not have a negative perspective on our people. You'll rarely find the local tribal people residing in that area all of them are either refugees or businessman from outside who eventually settled there. Explore the outskirts of Tura to get the real Garo experience like the adivasi village you mentioned among others places Even some of the Garo people are arrogant they might not be a big fan of recording without consent so I advise you to keep that in mind.

As a Garo myself I would like to put down some words too, I have been following up with your videos and have been enjoying watching them, just as you’ve said if you travel without any plan things like that can happen a lot of vloggers have faced this in various places of the country, these kinda similar incidents can be seen in foreign countries too but we can’t blame the whole region or the people living there for that, you faced with it few individuals BLAME THEM but do not include the rest of the population in it, we as a tribal living in Delhi face this kind of incidents on a daily basis even if we’re not travellers and are students despite the fact that there are lot of people living here from different states and regions but we still get mistreated yet we don’t blame the whole community, KARL ROCK when he went to Kashmir faced some I’ll treatments by some people there but he never blamed whole Kashmir and as for garos we aren’t used to seeing travellers or tourists as in the beginning of the video you yourself had explained WHY ? BECAUSE there was terrorism there so for people it’s very hard to believe anyone just like that but you’re lucky enough that you encountered some really kind people who helped you all the way so sometimes we have to also understand as per the place and situation. Tura native here, born and raised son of the soil. These people are not indigenous or local tribals, but believe me - they are not outsiders but bonafide residents of Tura itself. They are what we call "Banggal" in Garo or "Dkhar" in Khasi, usually from Bengali or Nepali community. First locals irrespective of community are cautious of things that can happen and hitch hiking isn’t common. You have no clue Pulkit what you have created as a consequence for Local Non tribals ( not outsiders) here causing additional agitation just because of not standing for yourself and deciding not to file FIR then why now while the event took place 2months ago? If somebody is treating you bad no need to argue with them, just record a video quietly for evidence and get away from them, and plus they are not tribals. Your style of travelling unscheduled, reaching destinations at odd times, trying to pitch tents any place unannounced, your undiplomatic egotistic replies, the fakish laugh you wear will surely make yourself vulnerable to such incidents. You might for your vlogging sake think that this kind of unscheduled travel style will bring suspense genre of entertainment, but what you are forgetting is that in your endeavour you are making yourself prone to such awkward situations, everyone will be bound to have such doubts. And to add you have in most of your videos tendency to ask questions to wrong people in a wrong timing e.g questions asked to Baghmara Police which are bit religio political. My personal observations is that you somewhat lack interpersonal communication skills to make such kind of raw extrovert travel. You are a bit insensitive too and neither have you planned properly to release such contentious video in a guarded way. Garos have helped you the whole way to travel to Tura and in the end non tribals beat you up and then effortlessly proceed to naively paint Garo Hills in a bad light(you could have been more descriptive and you had enough time to do that). After the incident too it was the locals who arranged for Your hospitality and care. You are sure to face such incidents in future in any part of the world let alone Garo Hills or India, it should not come as a surprise to you and neither will it be for anyone who watch your vlogs with an eye of a critique.
