Man, I've had that neighbor. Old lady that complained about _everything_ and was constantly writing letters to the landlady at a previous apartment. She would knock on the wall if she didn't like the noise I was making even during the day, kept threatening to call the cops on me for smoking w33d (it's legal where I am) and was just an all around pain in the ass. After knocking on the wall the entire time I was showering with music on in the middle of the day the landlady had to tell her if she doesn't stop she'll be evicted and asked her if she want's peace and quiet so much, why did she get an apartment in the city? (before anyone says she sounds like a good landlady, she wasn't) Honestly unless you're breaking the rules or being egregiously loud and obnoxious, I'd ignore him, or talk to your landlord/lady about how you do this for your job so they can talk to the neighbor. You shouldn't have to be so quiet during the day while y'all are working! Does he complain about construction work too? Yeesh.

Pretty sure they live in a semi-detached or a terrace house, basically where they share one or more walls with another house. They are supper common in England. Likely they both own their homes or are renting from different landlords since each home is a different property-

Semi-detached or terrace houses aren't the same property so even if they are renting they likely aren't under the same landlord so theres not really any rules. Sadly even though the walls are brick they dont dampen sound very much-

As a wpe community can we join together and find/send some soundproofing materials for Ellis and Cath? It may not be perfect, but it hurts my soul to see Ellis feel the need to contain himself and "be quiet" while the rest of the crew can be themselves. Even the need to let Cath know she's still too loud. 🥲❤️ I'm sure enough of us have been in a similar living situation and if we're getting enjoyment out of their streams and videos they should at least be able to enjoy making the content.

@@Skittlez_Smash sadly the sound proof foam dose not work how people think it dose it's ment to make it so your sound to the mic dose not bounce around and ruin the songs meanwhile on the outside people can still hear you all be in 4% more muffled compared to just the walls

Cheap soundprofing is eggcartons (disperses sound) and or foam packing material.... Also you can try hanging textile sheets 10cm from the walls to dampen echoes. Use heavier textiles to dampen sounds even more. Hang them from regular curtainhangers for easy and cheap moving.

no they mentioned it afterwards its too expensive and its not garanteed to work unless you go whole hog as someone who has some experience in this sort of thing, even if you do go whole hog, its a very complex process that would basicaly force them to renovate the entire room. its especialy difficult if you dont want to disturb your neighbor

So right at the beginning, when all the sims were just arguing and refusing to get along, at the moment there's a bug with the sims 4 where sims are autonomously just arguing with EVERYONE. I haven't seen further in to see if this dies down, but yeah, that's a bug that's been a thing for a while and nothing's been done, there's mods to fix it or apparently if you have the Snowy Escape pack that fixes it, I can't confirm this for myself but that's what's said online.

I dont know English laws or Ellis/Cath situation, but I would look into getting a new place. There are cheap options to help dampen sounds, but it seems that neighbor will complain about every little thing so it would be cheaper to get a new place.

A lot of houses in the UK are terraced (connected on both sides except at the very end of a row) and sound travels through plaster board and brick very easily. Not uncommon to be able to hear everything your neighbours are saying if they're not on the other side of their house.
