I find Dani looks lovelier without this type of contouring, myself. I'm not crazy about contouring, period, because it can make people look muddy as you say, but with a light hand I guess it can be okay on some people.

Yeah I agree - Its far too dark for her skin tone - it's the kind of black colour you'd wear at halloween to give the effect of skeletal hollow cheek bones!

I highly recommend the video by artist Barbara Daley on how to properly apply makeup for your face shape. She is the only ex who did the wedding makeup for Princess Diana. She does NOT recommend using bronzer to contour your face. You cannot change your face shape with that & it leaves an obvious tide line. Not natural looking at all & BTW, Diana never used it. The video is from the late 80’s but is basic makeup 101 & still applies to today. Remember, Barbara Daley IS an actual makeup artist who knows what she’s doing.😉

I have diffused heat and I LOVE it! Its in my favorite coral family and it blends so well into my skin. Bc of the powder swirled in it looks seamless.

I love the ambient lighting powder. I know you mentioned that you don't notice a huge difference on your skin, but when other people look at you they notice that you're in a flattering light. It also looks awesome in pictures.

For me totally worth they hype. I am as pale as a polar bear with oily combo skin. I have all the Ambient Lighting Powders and am waiting to get my hot little hands on the Ambient Blushes in Etherial Glow, Dim Infusion and Diffused Heat. I love your videos, and just came to this one. I have to say as someone who suffers from extreme dry skin and rosacea, these blushes are a godsend (at least for me). I have tried a lot of high end blushes including mac and nars and their ‘glowy’ blushes exageratte every little imperfaction on my skin. This blush, however, is the only one that i have tried that will not only leave your skin looks healthy and glowy but will also ‘improve’ any imperfections on your skin❤️ I have the colour ‘Incandescent electra’ which is an absolutely beautiful peach colour☺️ For me they are absolutely worth the money as they last you well over a year even with s daily use😉

I got Radiant Magenta bc it was the only one that was still available before they all sold out on Sephora.com and one of the ones that will probably (hopefully) show up on my skin tone. Hmm. Hmm. I have the Radiant Magenta and the Mood Exposure...though I haven't opened them yet. I think you definitely picked the best colors. After seeing all 6 swatched, all of the pink shades tend to read very similar. I'm sad you don't love the Ambient Powders. I got the 3 color palette before the holidays and it has literally changed my makeup life!! It's one of those products that's hard to explain, but every time I wear them someone complements my skin. (Random: Did you get the brush that goes with them? I did and love it. I've heard others tell tales that they didn't like the powders until they used the Hourglass brush made for them.) The blush looks pretty on you! I'm not thrilled to hear that they don't have staying power. :( You're eye shadow look in this video is on point!!

the mood exposure it kind of a contouring blush similar to the tarte exposed so you don't need to use a contour as it will make it look muddy or too blended together

Oh and a GREAT drugstore dupe for the hourglass original face powder in diffuse or illuminating shads are "NYC reserve your cabana". It gives such a similar glow without glitter or frost in it, and at $5 dollars I can definitely justify the slight difference. Totally try it, I returned my hourglass palette because I was so pleased with how similar "Reserve your cabana" was.

I totally agree with your review here. They are not worth the hype at all! And I normally adore your makeup but whatever you used to contour is just a little muddy or maybe too cool toned for you. Ahhh I hate to say that, but you are so gorgeous and that product just isnt doing you justice! Do you think they compare to the Milani baked blushes? I haven't tried them or the Hourglass blush, but the marble packaging with the shimmer and blush mixed together looks similar. Even their outer packaging looks a bit similar with the gold packaging! Everyone RAVES about Hourglass products and it's such a splurge, I still can't justify it yet so I'm glad you said that you're not too sure about how you feel about it. I do like the last blush you mentioned, it looks nice on you. Great video again!

Nope. Milani baked blushes are actually like blushes. These are more of a face powder texture with color.
