Great video! Planning my first backpacking trip to this area. Any tips or recommendations you have for this trip? Thanks!

I think this is a very beginner friendly backpacking area. The backpacking campground in the park had lots of bear boxes so that's one less thing to worry about. I personally like to do a counter clockwise loop starting with Mt Tammany (via red dot trail) and then loop around to the campground along the Appalachian trail(wish I could remember the exact name) and then take the Appalachian trail back to my car (at one of the parking lots for people hiking Mt Tammany. Anyways have fun!

It is crazy how busy the mt tammany area can be. Its like ants going up the mountain lol. Great memories of that place, even though I twisted my ankle pretty good by sunfish pond and limped the fire trail back lol

So cool. Looks peaceful… I must do this with my boys . I always thought it was hard to camp but you made it seem very doable. Wait any bears out there? Lol.. anyway good content. Be safe. Appreciate it.

With some research, camping can be easy. I started out with doing car camping which is much easier because you don't have to hike far with your gear. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, there are black bears in this area (north Jersey) , I've seen a bear in this area. Black bears are usually shy around people and run off when they see you, there are exceptions though and I would read up on ,or watch some videos that talk about being "bear aware", I think it's important to know some things from experts about dealing with bears. With that said, bear attacks... though can happen, are very rare and shouldn't keep you from getting out there to explore. Thanks for watching and hopefully you can get out there for hiking/camping.

Their guide says no campfires allowed. Did they change the rules, are you going rogue, or am I wrong?

I really enjoyed your Fool's Loop Bikepacking videos; Now that is what I call lots of fun; single track, switch backs, some technicalities, some challenges...Hope you plan on doing more Bikepacking trip footage. :)

Bikepacking is just better out west in my opinion, and here in the east it's just easier for me to go on a backpacking trip, but I definitely need to get on planning a bikepacking trip! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching and for the kind words! I definitely will be posting more adventures in the future. I have some editing to do for my last big hike, up Mt. Washington, so watch out for that video next. Take care.

Campsites are free, it's a first-come-first-served kinda thing which is great.

@@PrentissC Can’t beat free. I am a new backpacker. Just did my first one in early October in Wharton State Forest.
