FBODY WAREHOUSE sells a full interior kit for $119. If you need a link, let me know. Sometimes links get removed from posts on YT. The people who installed my Vintage Air didn't put all the bolts back in for some reason so that's what I'll be getting. Usually I get my OE stuff from Classic Industries for a better price, but FBODY has a lot of little hard to get specific items and some things are less than CI too.

Three summers while in high school I worked in a factory 2nd shift earning money for college. One summer I worked in the paint shop as a painters helper for less than one night. The newly painted parts went through an oven after the paint. Standing by the oven on a hot summer evening was too much for this 105 pound teenager and I fainted from the heat. After the management made sure I was okay, they made me take salt tablets and moved me to a cool part of the factory putting caps on pipes. It was the most boring job and I was all by myself but I worked as fast as I could hoping that I could graduate to a different job. I will always have respect for anyone painting anything! After they found out I could read blueprints I was moved to electrical assembly wiring/soldering the main control panels. These were seagoing refrigeration units for ships! Much bigger and taller than me.

Companies put the name, initials or number of the person who either did the quality control on an item or who packed the item. You will see “Inspected by No. 12” or “Packed by Mandy” labels or tags on various kinds of enterprise level servers and network switches. The labels are sometimes called production labels, and are added at the shipping room in the case of pickers and packers. The reason for putting the name or number of the inspector, picker or packer on the item is to make them accountable if they mess up.

Mate just left primer and now onto colour. 1963 EJ Holden so feel your emotion. you've got the fasteners... start searching for a seal kit, doors, handles, firewall, windows etc etc... save you angst when it's assembly time searching for bits as they crumble or fail when you put it back together. Most places that sell kits will either credit or money back on the parts that are unused... well they do in Oz...

I am really enjoying your continuing adventures with your T/A! I find your take to be fresh and not of full of BS as many so braggadocious video offerings out there! Love all the details! Shifter install, box of hardware (Holy Cow! how many pockets full of screws and fastener doodads did I haul back from salvage yard just to get find a small screw or something!), various musings on cars attributes, etc! Got my 1978 T/A ( very nice condition), but with blown motor (CA spec 403 Olds) in 1996. Put junkyard motor into it from a 1978 Buick Le Sabre and got it purring like a kitten. Not too long after that, I sold it to a friend who needed a car (for $1500). In "96 it was still a cool car (to car guys), but not really worth much-- they were still fairly plentiful (and scoffed at as being for guys trying to compensate for "something"). Got it back a couple years ago (asked for right of first refusal if he could ever part with it). He really loved that car, so I was absolutely amazed that he let me reclaim it--- what a friend! How many times have you ever gotten beloved a vehicle back? Your adventures, travails and victories with your beloved trans am are priceless. Please keep the new episodes coming! Thanks for all your fine work!

Box o' fasteners: I can relate to your excitement! The car is looking GREAT. Half done is better than NONE AT ALL, eh? The worst of it is corrected. And the doors - a very important part, they're BIG - the rest of the car won't look right if they're sagging or show bad gaps. Patience is a virtue. Anticipation is the best part of anything. Perfection is an expensive impossibility. It's JUST a CAR. It will be done soon, then you'll go on the the next thing, whatever that is, and this period you'll only vaguely remember.

I'm guessing you could have found a near mint version of this car for the amount of money you've sunk into it, but this has to be a much more rewarding experience. I think C-Milk said something like he'd never want to do this, he'd just buy an A+ car in the beginning. But there are only so many cars in great condition out there. Every year there's less and less for each model and year. Here you're taking a car that wasn't mint, had some big issues, and you're turning it back into an A+ car. I think that's super cool. Time plods ever forward. We age. Mountains erode. Everything is ground into dust eventually. A project like this is kind of like giving the finger to time itself. You've guaranteed that this car will be around, and in great shape, for a whole lot longer. You will have increased the global supply of A+ cars in this make and model by one. It's nothing to sneeze at. It's got to feel pretty cool.

She's getting there! She's going to look amazing when she's finished, better panel fit than original I'm sure! I can totally relate to your box of fasteners. As soon as I started fighting the JS machine screws on my GS250 project (fight often involved left hand drill bits) I went straight to the parts microfiche and started listing out all the different sizes the bike had (no nice kits!), and then went shopping for bags and bags of hex head stainless bolts. I think I now own every length of M4, M5 and M6 bolt made between 6mm and 55mm in hex head! (including some dome tops and low profiles).

Those kits have a good chance of rarely being complete since manufacturers tend to make slight production changes either half way through the year or in continental America where that same model being produced on the Canadian side of the border had differences. Being on the north side of the border after completely stripping apart an old car, I would have a number of baggies left over and saying to myself, "what the hell are these for?" Or worse, the specific clips and fasteners aren't there and you'd have to McGyver the job anyway. Btw the panel gaps were rarely uniform and matching when they were brand new. Like the paint the only time an owner payed close attention to such detail was after it's been repaired.
