OK. So I confused Martina with Steffi. Sigmund was technically Austrian but the house he lived in is now in the Czech Republic. The Skoda is a good car. And a minor point that Czechoslovakia doesn't technically exist any more. Other than those minor details everything in this video is 100% true.

as a Czech, I am pleased that Claus knows so much about the Czech Republic :), not everything is completely accurate, but the effort is appreciated ;) BTW: Skoda tanks are actually from a different company than Skoda as cars. Tanks and heavy machinery in general are from "Skoda Works" (based in Pilsen) ... Skoda cars are from a completely different company, "Skoda Auto" (since 1991 part of VW) from Mlada Boleslav. But you're right about the tennis players. This year's Olympics in Japan just confirmed it (Gold in Women's doubles and Silver in Women's singles) ... And as a Czech man I can tell you that I don't drink beer at all, but many people, including women, make up that statistic for me ;). And as for the famous Czechs: Jaromir Jagr (hockey player) Karel Čapek (writer, invented the term "robot") Miloš Forman (director - One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Amadeus) Franz Kafka (writer) Antonín Dvořák (music composer) Gregor Johann Mendel (discoverer of human genetics) Charles IV (King of Bohemia and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire) Ester Ledecká (Winner of the Winter Olympics in downhill skiing + snowboarding at the same Olympics) Jaroslav Heyrovsky (scientist, Nobel Prize for Polarography) Jan Janský (discoverer of the 4 humen blood groups) Josef Ludvík František Ressel (inventor - ship crew propeller) Stanislav Brebera (inventor of plastic explosives - SEMTEX, still manufactured in the Czech Republic ... ) and many many more :).

@@ClausKellerman Well, I'm looking forward to it. And I'm sure it's not just me :) .... Otherwise, cool. You said most of the things right. Czech Republic is actually a pretty boring country (in a good way). We don't really have much to complain about. So we complain about everything here = it's our national sport :) Czechoslovakia is hard to explain. Especially since WoT left it with the old name. But they also have the SSSR instead of the Russian Federation. Historically correct names, but now defunct. Czechoslovakia ended with the end of 1992. On January 1, 1993 the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic came into existence independently. Historically, the two states are very close to each other, but the two nations are quite different. The common state (1918 - 1992) was an artificial construct, created after the collapse of Austria-Hungary with the end of World War I. Otherwise, the Czech state on our territory in very similar borders as today, effectively exists since 900 AD. That's why we have so many castles - there was a lot of time to build them. Including the biggest one in the world, which is in Prague, as you said right :). Now it is just the Czech Republic. And if you want a hint as to what most of us in the Czech Republic are most sensitive to: when someone refers to the Czech Republic as Eastern Europe. I personally hate that. The Czech Republic is Central Europe. We're further west than, say, Vienna, Austria. I myself live only 20km from the German border in the West of the country, and I have a 3 hour drive to Berlin. :) BTW: Regarding tanks. Some Russian tanks were produced in Czechoslovakia as licenses. But with significant upgrades. For example, the T-55 and T-72 are considered to be the best versions ever in Czech variants. The Czech Republic has always produced top of the line machines and weapons. The Czechs had a pre-WW2 LT-vz35 and LT-vz38 tanks, known today as the PzKpf 35(t) and PzKpfw 38(t), which the Germans stole from us after they occupied Czechoslovakia and conquered Europe with it. Most of those higher tier tanks in the Czechoslovak branch of WoT, unfortunately, remained only on paper. But the designs were there. But after WW2, when we were a so called Soviet satellite, so the development of purely Czech tanks was stopped. So at least licensed production and modification of Soviet T55 and T72 was going on in our country. Nowadays no traditional combat vehicle, let alone tank, is produced in the Czech Republic today. Currently, only TATRA multi-purpose trucks (including military versions) and Aero L-159 Albatros subsonic combat aircraft are produced in the Czech Republic. Otherwise, the Czech Republic is one of the largest producers of small arms, including well-known and popular models. The CZ 75 pistols and other variants are well known. Czech company Laugo Arms and their new unique Alien pistol attract quite a lot of attention. Among the rifles are the very modern CZ BREN and BREN 2. Recently even Czech Zbrojovka bought the American company Colt. Yes, we like guns in the Czech Republic. A lot, but most people are unarmed and we have strict laws. Otherwise, the Czech Republic has beer, wine, and car manufacturing. The car industry is very big here. Besides Skoda Auto (Czech company but owned by VW) we have Toyota and Hyundai factories here. There's also TATRA (used to be cars too, now only trucks) and a few others. Above all, there are a lot of auto parts factories that supply production all over Europe. And the warehouses, they are everywhere, big and even bigger. Funny thing is that we have giant AMAZON warehouses here, but the store as such doesn't officially work here :). Similarly, many services common in the West still don't work here. We don't have Disney+, HBO Max etc. But then again we have one of the biggest NETFLIX catalogue. It is simply here that unfortunately some companies put the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe instead of Central or Western Europe, where we belong. I work in IT myself and we struggle a lot with this ... So good luck with the next videos. Make sure you go to the Czech Republic sometime. I often go to the US and Canada myself, but nothing for 2 years now because we all know why ... it sucks :).

Hey Buddy, I have no clue what North American books say but: (1) The problem here is that Czechoslovakia as one country doesn't exist anymore - since 1993 there are two independent countries: Czech Rep. and Slovakia. Regardless however they exists as one ore more countries they have never been "Czechoslovakians" - that doesn't exist. These ones from Czech are Czech and these ones from Slovakia are Slovakian - there are also Moravians and few others. (2) Well, the biggest castle in the World is actually in Poland (built by German Teutonic Order in XIII century - Malbork) (3) Steffi was German. (4) Sigmund Freud was Austrian Jew - actually his family migrated from Germany to Poland and eventually Austria - the city he was born used to be Austrian but now is Czech. and so on and so forth.

But please let Steffi Graf stay a German woman. Because Germans have some trouble with their self confidence as a nation since a little Austrian guy fucked up their image in the world 80 years ago. I think they had to rework it once everyone figured out that the 1/2 line on old Minsk was useless. You could farm them at the center between the buildings in the middle of the map from the ridge and from the woods with tds on the ends. But the 1,2 on the new map is now a corridor fight. The central ridge can be used for spotting due to the new bushes but the new low ground and indestructible fences mean you can't shoot from there. And there are fewer woods to conceal TDs making them not fun to play. And the river is useless because it's so low that you can't really do anything from there. I find it so boring to play that I'm considering blocking it.
