One of the tunes that turned hardcore into jungle.and could be played in either era and the people would go crazy.
@yamyite2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm have to semi disagree this was jungle, and sorry as I hate people arguing on KZbin. For me you want tunes that sum up what you’re talking about. Mystic and fire true love, and those vibes and wishdakota type tunes. What’s my code is early but pure jungle imo. Anyway bless up ✌️❤️
@timthegallant2 жыл бұрын
@@yamyite agreed deffo came before jungle was an official term.but had elements of it and it could slip into a jungle set pretty well.
@kungfuman2008 Жыл бұрын
This is an example of hardcore containing elements that people later identified as jungle. Fixed it for the other commenter… who I believe was thinking of the happier side of hardcore. Non-happy hardcore with breakbeats incl. amens is not necessarily jungle although it is a precursor to jungle in some cases.
@timthegallant Жыл бұрын

I’ll put this on record: A very well known Jungle DJ skanked the boys, and even released the track under his own name, with a slight remix. When I was on my weekly vinyl jaunts to London, I’d pass into the shop he worked, to get the boys their cash. The scumbag gave them pennies, while he made thousands. Thankfully, Total Science were local Oxford lads too, and Danny and Jason got a much better deal with them..... Honestly there is so much history behind the making of this tune. The boys smashed it!!!!

What Blahfm said! There has been some real interest in oldskool EP's being repressed onto vinyl and remastered, or at least being re-released digitally. Bay B Kane, The Men From Del Bosca, DJ Excel, and DJ Monita & Steve C amongst others have all gone down this route. This would definitely be a winner whatever format it would come out on!

I was shocked to hear this was made in 1992. This was pretty much the sound of late 93/early 94 which is when I remember hearing this... I don't think 1991 due to the tempo... Late 91 jungle was more like We are I.e and Demon Boyz - Jungle Dett etc.

Thanks. Ever since I really got into dnb, I realized that the more complex beats were my favorites. My musical taste is like an appetite. I'm satisfied with the current food I have until I find something better. Then, I can't get full until I get some more of that newfound food. The stuff I took a liking to last year wasn't jungle, I don't think. It was just some slightly more complex dnb that I never heard before. Last summer, I think, I was listening to the music that played while the credits of the movie, Blade rolled. I heard a cool song that might have been Call and Response by Source Direct. But I later looked up music for the movie so I could get more of the drug. I listened to call and Response and fell in love. Here I am now. I don't listen to the unoriginal kick, snare, kicksnare crap in modern playlists on KZbin. There are only certain songs I'll listen to with a simple drum beat like that. Some of them are by photek and source direct. (Most of those songs I'm thinking of are Afterglow by Wilkinson, ghost assassin by Maduk and Veela, currents by sounds of life aka source direct, Kingston drone by billain, and meant to be by hybrid minds. Those songs Just caught my ear with their percussion, basslines, and/or vocals.) Now I regularly listen to drill and bass and jungle. And then some Neuro dnb. Occasionally the kick, snare, kicksnare stuff. I really like the dark stuff like feel my dreams by mirage aka source direct. Or exit 9, which is by sd, as well. Its really complex and slaps you with multiple hands from every angle. I love exit 9 so much. One of my favorites from them. I also like happy stuff like this song or incredible by General levy and m beat. I'll check your channel but please suggest jungle like the stuff I mentioned. I need it.

You got the passion right there so I don't really need to point you in any particular direction... Back in the day when I went record shopping I didn't have a mobile phone, the internet etc as the technology wasn't even invented.. In alot of ways its so much easier today... So as I said earlier go research your ears off and have fun... Also if possible buying the original vinyl is a top BONUS and where possible supports the artist... Peace ;)
