According to Genesis 2:7, a human fetus is not a living person, so how can aborting a fetus be considered homicide?

Abortion was so important to our Lord and Savior that he never even mentioned it.

@JackMagger Very flawed reasoning. Christ upheld the Scriptures. Thou shalt not kill. Unjustified killing of the innocent applies outside and inside the womb.

Christ upheld the law, the Five Books of Moses. The ancient Hebrews did not see a fetus as "לְנֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּֽה" (a living person) until it has been born. The fetus was regarded as a part of the mother’s body and not a separate being until it began to egress from the womb during parturition (childbirth).

The simple-minded anti-abortionists' argument that -- Exodus 20:13 prohibits murder and therefore abortion is murder -- is a logical fallacy that occurs when an argument assumes (abortion is murder) the truth of its conclusion (abortion is murder), instead of supporting it. It's also known as arguing in a circle. Exodus 20:13 reads "[t]hou dost not murder." In ancient Israelite society, the act of murder was considered a grave sin against God and humanity. The sanctity of life was paramount, and the taking of life was strictly regulated by the Mosaic Law. According to traditional Jewish teachings, based on interpretations of the Talmud, the ancient Hebrews believed that *life begins at birth, not at conception," meaning *a fetus is not considered a full person"* until it is born and takes its first breath. Therefore, abortion would not have been considered murder because a fetus was not considered a full person.

The ancient Hebrews did not consider a fetus to be an independent life. Therefore, a woman’s execution was not stayed just because she was pregnant. According to Mishnah Arakhin 1:4: _The woman is bound for execution: one does not wait for her until she gives birth. If she has sat in the birthing seat, one waits for her until she has given birth._

Jesus, being God, would be in favour of abortion, in certain cases, as when God gave instructions to Moses on how to perform an abortion in Numbers 5 : 11 - 31.

The account in Numbers is NOT about abortion! If a woman was guilty of adultery, the test meant her sex organs would atrophy and there was a loss of fertility and ability to conceive. If she were innocent, her husband had to get her pregnant. The swelling of a guilty wife’s belly was because of the curse. Almighty God would NEVER condone an abortion; it’s murder in his eyes. And Jesus isn’t Almighty God: He said at John 14:28: “For the Father is GREATER than I am.”

@ConservativeMirror That is just nonsensical scriptorture.

@@SDJ992-q9t But yet Almighty God IS in deed Jesus. Let me explain: Jesus is God's human incarnation. To be legitimately human, means limited to the human experience of temporal reality. Therefore God's avatar or proxy in flesh, is His "son". Jesus is God abstracting and partitioning an aspect of His singularly divine consciousness, away from His infinite omni sovereignty - as an example of ultimate humility and empathetic rapport with His spirit imaging souls from our filtering phase of fleeting on earth - to minister unto us by sharing amongst us in extreme solidarity with our plights and delights. Jesus is our astonishingly charitable God literally putting Himself in position to walk in our shoes. That means Jesus as a genuine man had to be God's directly seeded Son, separate from the Father and His all encompassing dominion of constant control in provisionary purveyance to all that has, can, and will ever exist in transcendental time and space from His awesome entirety. Therefore God was always all of Jesus, even as Jesus was deliberately set apart from being all of God, so that He in His ethereal unlimited adaptability could act in experiential limitation as His "son" in the physical simulation of physics-bound sentience restricted within the temporary state from our testing grounds before achieving eternal harmony with God's omni edifications. Unified in accomplishment as just God. I'm merely using subsequent vocabulary advancements to articulate the idea in language.

Abortion is not murder, because it doesn't case the death of a person.

@@JackMagger There's an innocent burgeoning human life being ruthlessly slaughtered in the womb at an ephemeral period of total vulnerability. Temporary unconsciousness doesn't mean you forfeit your personhood. Nor does temporary dependence negate your independent value. If you refuse to abide by moral prudence as an irrefutable obligation, then perhaps for maintenance of societal continuity you should be forfeited instead.
